"Mike is going to win in Miami," said ex-Packer Leroy Butler, now a team broadcaster. "It's almost like having two head coaches down there.

"It's the best of both worlds. Mike came into a situation here (in Green Bay) where he had Brett Favre and a team almost ready-made for him, whereas Joe is more a draft-and-development guy. They'll put the two together and be successful."

I know that the "two head coach" comment was meant as a compliment, but it worries me a little. First off it is probably no big deal because Philbin and Sherman are great friends and will make it work. However, should we have any concerns that two head coach minds are on the same staff and both experts in the same area(offense)? Hopefully Sherman doesn't step on Philbin's toes or creates a power struggle in the locker room. Probably just over analyzing that comment as most things in the offseason are over analyzed.

It doesn't concern me at all senor Newshound; I believe it will result in a more constructive and productive collaboration than that of The Tuna and The Meatball's.

Sherman's knocked around a bit after his glory days, has an enduring personal relationship with Coach Joe and based on all that and him being the subordinate, IMO it lends itself to a more collaborative, less ego-driven partnership.

I don't see how it's a bad thing. If you remember that one episode of that Belichick series, Brady, Beli, and his other coaches are in a room tweaking plays and it's not like Belichick was diminished because Brady had a lot of suggestions about how to change plays.

I imagine it wouldn't be much different with Sherman in there too. The more expert presence, the better the debate. All of that is constructive.

I don't think it'll be an issue. It's just that Sherman is self assured in that he does.

OC and HC are two different jobs.

Its not always a good thing having multiple people on your staff with HC experience, remember when we had Saban, Murlarkey, and Capers all on our staff. The good thing about this is Philiban and Sherman have worked together before and are very good friends

No issue at all from what I can see as I think Philbin is more than ready to take charge of the team and Sherman would not have been asked to join him if there was any sense there would be conflict. Sherman has been there and done that as a HC and this seems to be a good fit for him to come back as a coordinator.

They are close friends from way back. No, no problems. It would not surprise me either if Sherman told Tampa he was taking OC job here instead.

Saban was a total ********, you're comparing apples and oranges.
