I'm absolutely disgusted at the playcalling the entire year so far. Just like everyone else, I definitely wanted a more aggressive offense than we saw last year, and I thought Linehan's vertical passing game with our personnel was the answer. But Linehan has been nothing short of terrible.

Let's look at the stats, because they dont' lie.

In our 2 Wins - 63 Rushes/69 Passes (48%/52%)
In our 4 Losses - 70 Rushes/150 Passes (32%/68%)

This isn't rocket science folks. Everyone knows balance in the NFL wins. What's really frustrating for me is that we have 2 very, very good RBs in our backfield, and a schmenk QB. It's not like we can even justify this pass happy playcalling with Gus Frerotte back there.

And don't give me the excuse that we've gotten behind early in games so we go away from the run. It's the Off. coordinator's responsibility to make sure we stick to the game plan. You think the Steelers would start throwin the ball all over the field just because they're down 10-0? No, you can't just abandon what your team does well when you win. In fact, when you do, you just compund the problem by not picking up first downs and having your defense on the field for 40 minutes a game.

And don't give me the excuse that Ronnie Brown isn't running well either, because he's been averaging 4.76 yards a carry through these 6 games!!

I know Saban probably doesn't like to get involved in offense, but somebody's gotta get in Linehan's face and make it clear to him that this isn't the '84 Dolphins with Marino and Clayton and Duper...we don't have the talent to throw it around and win games. This team is going to win games 1 way and 1 way only...balance on offense and solid defense. The proof is in the pudding (see stats above).

Solid defense? This team isn't going to be winning any games with that... not with this secondary.

I agree with the rest of your post though. Letting Ronnie Brown make plays is our best chance at winning. On the ground or through the air, Linehan needs to get Ronnie the ball 20 times per game at a minimum.
