...that some things have not changed.

Its clear that we STILL do not have a QB ready to lead this team. Daunte was horrible in the second half tonight.

Its clear that we still don't have our secondary fixed. Lets all remember when some of the pollyannas among us are saying "it wasn't that bad" that this was Charlie Batch that torched us.

Its clear that this team is not anywhere near being ready to challenge in the AFC.

I hope that Saban will carefully consider what vets he wants to keep next year and what vets he wants to get rid of..and he needs to decide quickly if he thinks Daunte is the guy. I am not sure he is. We need to maybe make a few moves to get some extra draft picks. This window will be open for a couple of seasons, but not forever.

We have some good young players. We have some good coaches. We are still not ready to compete in the AFC. Nothing good is going to happen to this team next year. The question marks that I thought were crucial to this team....Secondary, Oline, QB...are painfully inadequate. I don't see any of these positions getting fixed this season.

Its clear that the rebuilding will still be taking place into next year. We need more talent in the secondary, we need better execution from the oline, and the QB position we are still going to have to look in the draft, FA, and under every rock until we find someone capable.

This is what its like being a Fins fan.

Is it next year yet?

Damn man, it was the first game and your talking about jettisoning players and judging the team already. The o-line and secondary was a problem that was WELL known before the season. Most o-lines take a few weeks to gel and with houck as your line coach, you will see a stark turnaround in a few weeks time. We also have a new qb that has never thrown to these wideouts before. Do you honestly think its all gonna gel through training camp and practice??

Oh yeah and didn't we just play the superbowl champs in their back yard?

daunte is the guy, doesnt matter if your sure or not. we gave up a second rounder for him, saban will stick with him. and saban should stick with him. hes a da*n good quarterback. played a great game up until the steelers re took the lead again on that 80 yard pass. with no running game and no defense backing you its hard to be a hero

Do you really think Daunte is not an upgrade over Frerotte, Feeley, or any other QB we have had since Marino? The oline and secondary need to improve, but give it time. We have played one game. How can you judge the team based on a road opener against the defending champs with a top 5 defense in which we lost by 11 points?

dont forget we had the game won untill a critical coverage mistake. we were playing the superbowl champs, they knew we were going to throw because we couldnt move the ball on the ground. Daunte will be fine. next week will be a different stroy

The funny thing is we all figure Miami is going to lose 5-6 games this year, so why a game against the SB Champs in their backyard making everyone talk trash? We were winning with 6 minutes left, this game could of gone either way. Yes we have some things to fix and work on, but that is commonplace weekly in the NFL!

Gah

I'm sick of stupid people like this...Bandwagoner much?

You'll end up eating just about every word buddy.

I swear some people on this board think that the whole season is shot because of one game. Get a grip! It's not the end of the world that we lost to the world champs. We made some mistakes tonight and the Steelers capitalized on them. I'm going to be honest, Dante collapased under the pressure of winning the game.

This maybe the only time I agree with you especially since hockey season is about to start this day.

Nothing is known from one game let's try not to be too critical. If fans thought the team was going 16-0 then you can complain but it's been one game!
