Look...it all comes down to this with our QB's. Do we want a sucky QB with experience that can at times manage this offense...or do we want a sucky QB with no experience at all?

To re phrase a quote from the movie , "Master and Commander" it really is the "Lesser of two weavils..."

No matter how much any of us scream..Saban will start Gus at QB. I wont say stick with Gus..because Saban does what is best for the team...he doesnt "stick" with anyone. This denotes some sort of allegiance many think Saban has towards Gus.

Screaming for a Sage start is akin to yelling and screaming for that cookie when you were a kid...and there was no damn way Momma was gonna give it to you...and if you kept crying you were gonna get your but smaked. Sage isnt starting unless Gus gets hurt.

Theres no point in starting Sage...he isnt the QB of our future. If there was even an incling that he may be....Saban would have started him already.

So we all just have to be patient...suck it up...and hope Gus does good....heck even root for the guy...he's our QB. Make haste slowly. We all know this is the last year of mediocrity at that position. The "air" apparent is on his way....we just dont know who he is yet.

I think Gus sucks too. I HATE that we are going with him, but it looks like we have to. Sage has been around this staff for quite some time now, and I doubt they wouldn't go to him if they believed he is clearly better. If he isn't clearly better, then its nothing more than 'garbage in and garbage out' which makes no sense to do when we are playing for the division tie this week.

That's the gist of the situation. There's a lot to be said for poise and confidence in the pocket, even if he's crappy at throwing the ball. He knows the offense, and he doesn't make a TON of mistakes.

Frerotte is what he's always been - a less-mobile, less-interception prone, stronger-armed version of Jay Fiedler.

Very true VT...There is a reason that Sage has sat on the pine for 4 years...afterall, this is a guy that couldn't beat out Ears for two years or AJ last year and Gus this year. Perhaps he didn't get a chance, but if he had something going for him, I'm sure that Linehan/Saban/NT/Foerster/Wanny would have seen it by now. Gus is what he is...and he is what we have and the 'worse of two weavils' as you said.
