Its obvious-This a rebuilding team

The first few games may not be pretty but dont you think they will get better?

IMO we may not get into the playoffs this year but we have a strong base to build on for the next few years. What do you think ?

The problem I see is that the defense is getting older. We might have one or two more years left with the personel we have now. Bowens might not play past this year, Zach is getting older, Madison isn't the same player, you can see where I am going with this.

The OL needs to get better in a hurry. They need gel, they need to recognize blitzes, and they need to get nasty. I'm not sure with what they have now is the answer. The offseason could be another reach for OL that don't want to come here.

If you have an entirely new offensive unit in the field, and all of it is unproven, I think you're rebuilding.

Booker is proven. Konrad is proven. McMichael is proven. Chambers is proven. Ricky Williams is (was) proven, Boston is proven. Jeno James is proven. So, 7 out of 11 players on the Offense is (were at the time) proven players- and it is "rebuilding"?

I feel sympathetic to Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas, Madison, Surtain, Bowens.... Those guys have bled, only to watch the offense blow away in smoke and injuries. At the beginning of the offseason I would never have said Miami was rebuilding, but after all that has happened it is apparent that NOW (not then) the offense is forced to accelerate. The defense will only last a few more years, and I don't see the Defense putting up with them having to prop up the Offense much longer.

Rebuilding is a very subjective word. For some it means a complete overhaul. For others it means major Tweaking.I fall in the later category.

Some posters have expressed the opinion that our defense does not have time to wait for the offense to come around .I think thats true.We may be in the uncomfortable position that our offense will be getting good just about the time our defense starts to lose its effectiveness. It will be close.

I hope we are in rebuilding mode. If we look this bad while NOT in the process of rebuilding then we really are in trouble.
Good point.Lets see where we are in week 5 .

We have the pieces on offense to have a good unit. They need the time together to get used to each other and gain some continuity, IMO.

I brought out this old thread because I was wondering how some of you who have posted in here feel now going into week 3.

How can 9 new players in our starting offense not be considered as a rebuilding effort ?

I could be wrong but didn't NE have many new players when they won the SB. They probably weren't all on offense though.
