Arena has 6 months left on his contract. Klinssman wants to spend the next 6 months with his family and then get back to coaching. Klinssman will be the USA's next Head Coach. Hopefully all works out for Arena.

OK, some interesting news. One of the potential non-candidates just became a candidate again: Guus Hiddink!!! Apparently, his contract with Russia seems to have collapsed.

So, the candidates from outside the US are: Klinsmann, Hiddink, Metsu, Advocaat, Troussier and Michel.

By the way, Gulati says "Klinsmann's total lack of interest in the position would be an impediment, yes" in the same article, saying he had not spoken to him "in six months". But, as some have stated above, this is probably a smokescreen.

I mean Klinsmann is only going to choose Germany or the US and no other team, and since Germany is out of the way the decision is really whether he wants to coach or not, not whether he wants to coach the US.
