It's Official....

I personally don't like the idea, and if I was a season ticket holder I would be ticked.

But I understand its the all mighty dollar at work.

Why would you be ticked? You won't be charged for the game that is moved.

I have been saying for years on this site that this day is coming. The NFL is a business and it has almost maxed out EVERY dollar here in the states. The next stage of growth is outside the states.

Within 10 years you will see 1 team move to Toronto and 1 team move to Mexico City. Not expansion and adding teams, just teams moving. Take it to the bank!!

I see expansion in five to ten years, either to 36 or eventually 40 teams. LA, Mexico City, Toronto, San Antonio will make the first round of new clubs. Eventually I look for Birmingham, Orlando, somewhere else in California maybe San Jose, and a third team in the NY metro area, perhaps in one of the new stadia being built.

My problem with teams outside the US would be economics, admittedly the US isn't worth much in the UK, but I am not sure if a Canadian or Mexican team could afford to operate in their respective countries. NHL has a hard enough time paying salaries in Canada right now and their games are sold out, just that the dollars that US teams pay means they need to sell a lot more tickets in Canada to be able to compete.

Not sure I mind the home game away, but it is one less game to go see if you are a die hard, but it is only every 16 years anyway.

John Clayton was saying this is a HUGE win for Roger Goodell, who did not originally have the support for this.

I don't know how I feel about it. I think it's great that the game will be grown. I don't like teams losing a home game. Certain football teams benefit greatly from their home field advantage. One game out of eight, is significant. Not the end of the world, but it does knock the league's focus on equity out of kilter.

Losing 1 home game every what, 16 years.........not a big deal in my opinion

In the context of 16 seasons, sure, not even a blip. In the context of that one singular season, maybe one where that team is in a dog fight for home field advantage, then not such a small matter IMO.

but that could work FOR you or AGAINST you. It goes both way.

It's the same for every team. Just the luck of the draw in one paticular season. Once again, I have no problem with it

I knew it would happen.

I don't like it. Never have, never will.

Toronto....ok. It's basically America (Buffalo), except for the high taxes (which sucks for the athletes who don't want to live in Canada, no offense intended with that remark).

But Mexico City?? And Europe....forget about it. Yeah, lets make some poor team travel across the Atlantic 16-20 times a year for road games. Can you imagine flying across the pond four times in PRESEASON?? It'd be bad enough playing in their division and being forced to do it every year.

I agree, and If I own season tickets, even if its once every 4 years, I'm ticked!

You will never see a full time team in Europe. But you might see a game a week played there. Probably all games the week before or after the 2 teams BYE week.

You WILL see a full time team in Mexico City. 100,000 fans for every game, yeah its just a matter of time. And the players could live in Texas or anywhere near the border and just travel in for games. The teams offices could even be on our side of the border. It would work
