I love how so many people jump on and off a team's bandwagon after just 1 game. Every year some teams start off the season bad and then end up making the playoffs -- and vise-versa. The Colts, Chiefs, and Ravens (Super Bowl contenders in many people's eyes) all lost in week 1. Does this mean their season is now over too? The Dolphins lost to a good Titans team -- all while having numerous problems to deal with. Give the team a few weeks to gel (especially on offense) and get everyone on the same page. I don't understand why so many people are already writing this team off. Look at the Patsies last year: they got their a**es kicked in the 1st game of the season (to a bad Bills team), started off 2-2, and then ended up winning the Super Bowl. If we start off 0-8, then yea, playoffs is out of the question. But until then, there is still hope. IT'S NOT HOW YOU START THE SEASON, IT'S HOW YOU FINISH IT!

One loss doesnt mean anything, yes. But look at our offense. Worst in football. Look at the fact Jay Fielder was kept on the roster, stunted any type of growth at the most important position. Look at the fact we didnt go after Kerry Collins, infinitly stupid move. Throw in a pothead, and bad injury, this is gonna be a LONG year.
Its not the fact we lsot 1 game, Ive been seeing bad things coming since the day Dave and Jay were retained. Anybobdy who thinks we wil be .500 or better, now that is an extremely optimistic/Delusion person.

Well people, last season the NE Patriots lost their first game to the Bills 31-0. What happened at the end of the season? The Pats won the SB and the Bills finished last. I'm not saying that will happen to us, but with one week everyone thought the Bills were the next champs and the Pats were done.

STOP please with the comparison to last years Pats. Its extremely dumb. STOP!!!!!!!!!
Anybody doing this never saw football before I guess.

Yes, look at our offense. Sure, Fiedler was kept on the roster, but he's not starting anymore. We have a very promising QB in Feely and some nice talent around him. Our WR combo of Chambers and Booker is one of the best in the league. Throw in McMichael, Konrad, and Gordon and we have quite a few weapons. I will say that our o-line is the weak spot (really weak), but that will improve. My point is that we have the players, but it will take time for them to come together. Feely is finally getting the opportunity to start (which he should have gotten when he got here), and Booker and Gordon are just learning the plays. Give it time. If week still suck in November, then let the Dolphins have it.

It's actually not dumb at all. Last year's Patriots were coming off a weak season, and nobody expected anything from them. Then they lost 31-0 in the 1st game of the year, so everyone started writing them off further. So the comparison is actually quite similar: nobody expects us to do anything at all, we lost our 1st game, and everybody is writing us off. My whole point is that a team may look horrible, and be picked to finish in the cellar, but can still come back and win a championship; further proving my point that the beginning of the season doesn't mean much at all -- the end does!!!

The same thing happened last year after the texans...

Ummmm....we WILL be above .500....we lost our season opener to a very good football team by a whopping 10 points!!!...now if we lost to San Fran or Arizona then I would say hang it up

I have to agree with you on that.. One loss doesnt mean anything
Thats not true, if we would have beat Houston last year we would have been in the playoffs insted of Denver..

One loss does mean something, but I think its more of the way we played.. I wouldnt expect to see that every week, and I am sure that everyone else agrees. Things are going to get better.

*Side Note* I wasnt trying to correct you or be a jerk, but that one loss hurt us last year, and that was a game we should have won.

so you don't think the O has a chance in hell at getting better? Kerry Collins wasn't even on the radar for March or June cuts. Remember that was a surprise move, so don't sit here after the fact and give a high and mighty hindsight 20/20 power read, that's easy. When you're not in the hot seat to get things done, it's easy to criticize. Wanny has done nothing but win here. There's a number of other coaches still with their teams that haven't done 1/2 as good. No you shouldn't be extremely optimistic or Delusional, but you should atleast see if thing can get better with new people before being so pessimistic.. :D

It doesnt matter, when Collins was cut. He WAS cut, and readily available, and a big upgrade over Fiedler. If Peyton Manning becomes availbale in June, you dont go and get him??, becuase its 'too late'..... its never too late to upgrade the team.

Maybe either I put it incorrectly or you didn't read it right. I did not compare the Dolphins to the Pats. I compared a team last year that was blown out the first game and then went on to have a successful year, to the Dolphins losing the first game. I did so because of all the postings about how terrible we are and the season is over. I don't think its over, we still have 15 games left. And any team can win on any given day. Look at what the Browns did to the Ravens.
