It’s Really The Offseason

Never felt this way before.

It’s mid-season and it feels as though we are in the off-season.

Any little piece of news we get is insubstantial. Personnel news is like splitting ugly hairs and the deck chairs are being slowly rearranged on the Titanic. The worst part is that, even if all the stars aligned and coaching changes etc are made, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel until 2020. And that will be an even 20 years since Marino retired. All those years lost

When I think back on what made me a Fins fan, it was because of Dan and his fire. Now I’m not so sure. I still love this team, but it’s a real tragedy.

Try being a Fins fan since the Christmas Day game 1971. We're halfway thru the season, we wait all offseason for the season to begin, so I'm just going to see what happens one game at a time and try and enjoy it.

Man I know how you feel, been a fan since the 80s and it pains me to see how the team has fallen and continue to do so. I am a firm believer that we need whole sale changes to this group of guys the Dolphins are fielding right now, no longer can we afford to tweak here and there in hopes that success will somehow appear. Love him or hate him, Gruden has shown us the way with his strategic planning with a look toward the future, if he fails he fails, but the man is willing to make difficult and unpopular decisions now including a possible tank this season (something I don't subscribe to) because he has a plan to make his team great again. Will his plan work? who the hell knows, but at least he has a good one.
 
This franchise has been cursed. So cursed that I am 99% sure if we had the 1st pick in the 1998 draft, we would of selected Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning.
 
Ehhhh, a tad over dramatic to me. We had a very solid draft and have some quality young offensive pieces. Next year’s draft is historically good on the DL and we should have ample cap space. Personally, I believe Tannehill has played his last game in Miami and I’m good with that. I’d love to give Bridgewater a shot next season and if that blows up go all in 2020 for a QB.

Unfortunately I relate although not first time I've felt this way.

Did you take 2007 off as a Dolphin fan?

A solid draft according to who? We've been drafting to bad that we draft Baker and he becomes a starter (on this team) and now we think we had a "solid" draft. We really don't know how good or bad our draft was but so far is looking like yet another very average draft for us. I like Minkah but everyone else the jury's still out.

Ample cap space to do what exactly? Should we continue to bring in expensive FAs, or should we trade some of our expensive vets for picks and build that way? A ton of teams will have money next year, what should be our plan? The idea with Bridgewater isn't a bad one, either way I go for a QB in 2020.
 
not the offseason quite just yet for me at least . We are still sitting at .500 with a very winnable game coming up this weekend at home . Lets sweep the Jets and hope for the best .

I know Tannehill is probably done but I will continue to support this team & Brock as our QB until we are mathematically out of the playoff picture.

The point is, having cap space is better than not. My priority would be interior OL and DL. This is the perfect draft for DL help. The draft is so deep in DT’s and DE’s a starting guard and or center should be available in round 3. As for free agency my money would be on a CB and possibly a safety.

Couldn't agree more. Too early to judge a draft. I will say I don't know how people think this team has 'solid drafts'. If that's the case we wouldn't be in NFL purgatory year after year. One could even argue Derwin James (better talent at the position) or Tremaine Edmunds (biggest need) should have been the first round pick. Don't even get me started on Gesicki and beyond...

Cap? Take the hit. Your fist loss is your best loss.

Secondly, we are going nowhere without a real QB. So start there
