I know just the thread title raised some blood pressures.

The reason I thought I'd post this, is that somtimes by
throwing out raw stats without any context, we lose
sight of the big picture.

Yes, KAJ has, and, looks like, will continue to hold the
rookie rushing yardage record becasue of Ronnies injury.

-Oh well.

Ronnie probably won't win OROTY.

-Oh well.

OROTY is a title that's invented to inflate a player's worth, and, is of
no practical value, other than to internet s-talkers.

Records are nice, but, I think as the season wore on, we all suspected RB
wouldn't break KAJ's record becasue of platooning at HB, and, the fact that
we're always having to come from behind. (passing).

The next two years, I think, are going to be very good ones for Ronnie.
I'm happy with the pick we used on him :dolphins:

That is how the basketball player spelled his name. Our former RB spelled it Karim Abdul-Jabbar. Drafted 3rd round 1996, and was the starter for three seasons.

KAJ had MUCH more carries than Brown has and yes, as it's been said, he didn't split carries with anyone except for Irving Spikes and that wasn't very many... Spikes only carried the ball 87 times that season...Parmalee even had 25 carries that season and that's still a few carries less than Ricky has alone.. KAJ had 307 carries for a 3.6 avg and his longest run all year was 29 yards..

The guy wasn't as bad as you guys are making him out to be......there just wasn't anywhere for him to run, the run blocking sucked on those teams. There wasn't a back on our roster the entire time he was here who ran with any better success than he did. And he had plenty of runs that were spectacluar....they were just too few and far between.
