If there's a sudden flurry of activity in the
Miami Dolphins
wide receiver corps, credit the lurking presence of former six-time Pro Bowler
Chad Ochocinco
.

After his least productive season in the
NFL
, Ochocinco signed a one-year incentive-heavy contract last week with the Dolphins to compete for a roster spot.

He also hopes to resusitate his career.

"For me it's about getting back to the basics, going back to where it all started, not as far as playing at home in Miami, but as far as the game goes and getting back to who we're all used to seeing and how I became what I am," Ochocinco said. "I think I kind of lost that. I'm looking to go back to Chad Johnson, and just make it live again."\

Ochocinco was noticeably quick. He also made some eye-popping plays including a back shoulder reception as he fell to the ground against cornerback
Sean Smith
.

"I think Chad is trying to prove to everybody that he's still Chad," Dolphins quarterback
David Garrard
said. "The things that I've seen on the field running his routes, he's very quick in and out of his breaks. That's usually the No. 1 decline for a wide receiver. I don't see that. And I definitely don't see that with the hands."

Garrard and Ochocinco have a natural connection. They are NFL veterans on the tail end of their careers in their first season with the Dolphins. Both have a lot to prove, which is why Garrard is likely investing a lot of time in trying to develop their relationship. Garrard said he hopes some sort of chemistry can lead to playing "backyard football where we just start coming up with plays on our own."
