Not that we didn't see this in weeks' past, but it became clearly evident yesterday what is wrong with Gus:

-He is just not an accurate passer!

It wasn't the oline breaking down, it wasn't receivers running bad routes, it wasn't a slippery football due to rain, it wasn't a hounding crowd on the road. Everything was perfect around Gus, but he just couldn't put the ball where he wanted it to go. The sad fact is - he just can't do it! It's not in his skill set to throw accurate passes! Some guys can do it (Brady, Manning, Marino, Montana), and some guys just don't!

I'm not going to get too much on Gus, because he is what he is - a stop gap until the "QB of the Future" arrives. But it does sicken me to see all the "almosts" and "could have beens" and "should bes" this season on the field.

CC had one go right through his hands yesterday. Mcmicheal as was stated by the announcers yesterday, should have caught the one in the endzone. The rest of the game, Gus was right on target! The problem was that we didnt go downfield at all and dinked and dunked and BS playcalling.

I'll buy the CC drop, but McMike can't make that play all the time. It was a really tough ball to catch. Sure, you'd like to see it, but you can't expect it.

Even when Gus is on target, he's really not "on target." It's not just yesterday, it's all season. Overthrown here, thrown in the dirt there. Remember that throw to the ground at the goal line to CC at the end of the first half against KC? Inexcusable!

Gus admitted to checking down and going to the under route. Those 5 yard plays aren't always the ones called. And Gus missed a few yesterday, he misses a few TDs every week it seems.

I dont care. I am sick of everyone laying all blame on Gus when it is much deeper than that! Go ahead! I hope Saban does start Sage! Go ahead! What difference will it make when the OC wants to hit recievers at the line of scrimmage and hand off to WR's?

Look, I am not dissagreeing that Gus is inaccurate. What I am saying is that our problem is linked to Linehan. Linehan is Gus. Gus is Linehan. Nobody wants to bring up the real facts. They just want to bring up the politically lazy debate of Gus and his inaccuracy. We should have won this game yesterday on the back of one Ronnie Brown, instead, we pass. Linehan is Gus. gus is Linehan. As soon as people wake up and realize that Linehan doesnt want to play Sage cus then he may have to actually run the damn ball 40 times, then they will never understand the real problem.

Gus can't seem to get a break can he...he played well enough in this game to give us a chance to win, except for that late interception of course. The receivers didn't seem to be getting seperation either, it wasn't all Gus's fault.

Politically lazy? Look - I have watched every minute of every game this season. It is obvious to anyone that there are problems with this team that go beyond Gus. While there are good things as well, there are several problems that will have to be solved by Saban and Co. over the next two season s before we will be consistently good.

That said - I have seen several missed long throws or would-be TDs that come down to one basic fact above everything else: Gus can't make an accurate pass. These plays - if say half were made - could make a big difference in so many ways. More points, more time of possession for us, less time for our tired defense on the field. There are other missed opportunities by other players, but this is the most direct thing that could, or could-have, made a difference THIS season.

For those of you who want to lay all the blame on Gus, here is a question to consider:

Was Gus playing defense on those 4 70+ yard drives?

Now, I am not absolving Gus of all blame, because he is not playing well. But he is not the only thing wrong with this football team.

While Gus has certainly been inaccurate this season, I don't think that was the problem yesterday. In fact, I felt the blame for the missed big plays fell more on the receivers than on Gus. I felt that if the teams switched receivers Miami would have won.

Look at how much we're paying McMike. I do expect him to make that play. Gates and Gonzalez make that play everytime. It wasn't even a bad throw. It went right through his hands.
