You have believers in Henne. You have more skeptics. But the common ground for everyone is how this Dolphins regime rises or falls on Henne and a belief this new offense that allows him to audible and attack downfield is welcome.
Let the guy stand up. Let him have a real offense to work with. Let's see who he is or confirm who he isn't.
When you look at Henne's statistics, nothing suggests greatness. But the hope is how nothing suggested greatness in Drew Brees entering his third season as a starter, either.
The Dolphins have started 15 quarterbacks since Dan Marino left, from veterans like Chad Pennington to rookies like John Beck to reclamation projects like Daunte Culpepper.
Henne gets the chance none of them did with this third year of starting. He gets the speed of Reggie Bush to help him. He gets a refocused Brandon Marshall to partner with after last year's "misrelationship,'' as Henne called it.
That's all healthy. It's all preseason hope. It's the kind of stuff that sounds good on the edge of as big a season opener as the Dolphins have had in a while. It still comes down to Henne being the player he believes he can be.

Article, though true, is far from a revelation. Henne turns us into a winning team, or he's relegated to backup duty...on another team. Should be interesting given Sparano and maybe Ireland have put all their chips on the table with Henne.

Agreed, it's Henne to take the job for the next 10 years or he and Sparaono are looking for new job next year.

Henne has never gone into a game thinking he was not going to win. Maybe he played "Not to lose"
But this year is different, no antique playbook, no under center on 3rd and 10, and no lack of playmakers to throw to.
This is on Henne. His staring down receivers, bad decisions on throws, bad throws, and luck. I know the ball bouncing off receiver's hands is not on Henne, but really, it's on Henne.
No doubt about it Chad, this is a make or break season.

Chad will makes some mistakes this season, but he will more than offset that with big plays to BM, Gate, Hartline and Bess.
Last year the conservative play calling never gave him good chances to make big plays, so all he was left with was the bad plays from having to try to bail out the team in bad spots.

If he doesn't play well the next couple weeks he will be Matt Leinart and all but out of this league for a bit

This is it for Henne. If he can't put it together this season, then he's going to spend the rest of his career holding a clipboard like the guy he replaced in Miami, John Beck.

That's the great thing about the game, we can all speculate, talk about potential, but in the end we get a chance to see all the story lines play out onthe field.

As a Dolphin fan, I want nothing more than for Henne to flourish and just explode with his new OC's scheme. We've seen his potential. I still remember that Jets game where he won a wide open shoot out with a 4th quarter comeback. Back then, we had all thought he was going to be the man for the next 10 years. He's blown some games to be sure, but I still root for him every single game to turn the corner and become the quarterback we all want and need him to be.

GO HENNE!

Couldn't of said it any better!
