We never will win a Super Bowl with Philbin, ITS THAT SIMPLE, he should have been fired. I will literally eat my own shorts if we could even win a playoff game with this pathetic joke of an excuse for a HC. I love this team but I'm sorry anyone who thinks we are going to have something better than an 8-8 season just is too glass half full. He is the biggest P*ssy and constantly holds this team back with his stubbornness and inability to make in game adjustments or realize that the coaching staff he picked just sucks, minus lazor but lets not get into the fact the he refused to fire Sherman. Which in its own right should explain how incompetent he is as a Head Coach.
 
I wanted Philbin to succeed in the beginning. I've grown to despise him with all his insecure moves.
 
Don't take my post the wrong way though, I think Philbin is a lame duck

@Travis34: you are so right. the contract extension is standard practice, but this dude has no chance to win more than 8 games in '15 and will be history.
 
I am still optimistic that Joe can turn it around. This is the make or break season and with Tannehill steadily improving and hopefully a better Offensive Line and better Defense, I think that we can improve from 8 - 8 to 11 - 5 and make the playoffs.
This widespread misconception that Joe is a blithering idiot who doesn't know what he's doing, is presented on Finheaven regularly and is now incorrecty regarded as fact. Last season the team was competitive for most of the season and narrowly lost some close games against good teams that made the playoffs. Bill Lazor did pretty well in his first season as Offensive Coordinator and is well placed to be more creative in year 2. Last year we didn't have the O-Line depth to be able to cover the loss of Branden Albert, and the team fell apart at the end of the season. But this is a new year and I'm quietly optimistic.

I was ok with the Philbin hire, but I've grown more and more jaded. I just don't think he really knows HOW to coach a successful NFL team.
 
I pretend like Philbin isn't running the team and root for my boys: Ryan , Landry, these guys are the future face of the franchise, Philbin is just there. I wish lazor was hc at least he has an opinion
 
You're going to hate the 2015 season even more when we miss the playoffs again. With Elmer Fudd as our Head Coach what more do you expect?
 
Wait, what? Someone doesn't like Philbin and thinks he is not a good coach? Holy crap, stop the presses and alert the media! THANK JESUS CHRIST himself someone made a thread about this because otherwise this perspective would be completely unknown to anyone on this board.
 
I think Philbin's style would have worked in 70's and maybe even in the 80's but it won't work now. The players are different and their attitudes are way different and he can't deal with it. We could be in for a wasted year with him.
