I think it's time to start Anthony Alabi, see what he can do and bench Damion "you can hit my QB" McIntosh.

Alabi was in one play this season. And he gave up a sack.

I don't recall him playing at any other time.

As I remember he was in for a few plays that game, he gave up a sack but there was pressure from everywhere that play.

Thats if I remember right, I probably dont

Start him for what, its not like he has done anything to deserve it, hell you might as well start Marcus Vick at QB also while you are at it.

How exactly do you tell if an O-lineman has done anything to deserve it unless your at practice every day? Its not like WR where you are the 4th string guy and get playing time anyway.

Im not saying your wrong, just asking what you base that off of? Its not like we have an amazing O-line to start with.

Well our line sucks and he never plays so therefore would it not make sense if he looked even remotely good he would already be playing. They tried Mcintosh at G, Alabi never plays on a very bad line thats a bad sign.

that was the texans game, right? if im not mistaken, carey had to come out and alabi went in and proceeded to give up mario williams' first caree sack.

I think Alabi should get some playing time as well. Not because I think he'd be a huge upgrade over Macintosh but because we spent a 4th round pick on him in the 2004 draft and here it is soon to be 2007. I'd like to see how he plays in real games, not just a play here or there.

The difference between Alabi and Vick is that we spent a 4th round pick on Alabi and Vick was an UDFA. I want to see if guys like Alabi and Toledo, so-called "Houck favorites" can actually play in the NFL or if they will be annual training camp bodies bouncing from team to team.

actually Alabi was a fifth round pick and good luck seeing glass joe play, it may take him 5 seasons to play 16 games uninjured.

Alabi had better step up in 2007 during training camp and show that he's worth keeping around. He'll be in his third season and it's high time he starts showing his athleticism and push for playing time.

If they' re not playing him it's because he can't play as well as the starters, bad as they are. It isn't as if these weren't pro coaches and they were not trying to put the best guys they have out there. We just have bad offensive linemen because we don't take any in the higher rounds of the draft.

You're right. Good catch. Alabi was a 5th round pick. I'm just tired of us drafting these OL "projects" that never go anywhere.

When we drafted him there was a lot of talk about him being the future at left tackle, but as far as Im aware he's only seen action on the right side. With Carey's play this season it seems we're pretty set at that position, so is Alabi still on the team next season?
