IU coach passes away

This is a shame.:(
Also there is a lot of pain from the University of Miami (the non-Canes one). In the last year three of their former coaches, Hoepner, his predecessor Randy Walker, the coach at Northwestern, and the legendary Bo Schembechler all have passed away.:(

Hep was a great man and was turning the corner with a program that has had little to cheer about in the last 15 years. He made the students want to come to the games and got a dismal fan base to show up to "the rock" on Saturday afternoons.

RIP coach

Terry Hoeppner in a news confernce.... " Everyone was telling me I needed to get my head checked.... Turns out they were right (While pointing to the scar on his head)."

Sounds like a great guy to me.

The feeling I got was that he may actually coach agian in 2008, So I don't think they knew for a couple of weeks
I dont know....they just announced like a week ago that Lynch would be the coach for 2007, but either way, it sucks.

Hoeppner was a class act who was loved my players and fans alike. I would love nothing more then for Indiana to have some success and dedicate it to Hep's memory. Rest in peace Coach Hoeppner, you will be missed.

Something I want to share

You came to us in our time of need,
You filled our hearts, and planted a seed.
You gave us hope and shared your dream.
The foundation you laid shines through your team.
You gave us The Rock, and with honor we defend,
You found a home in our hearts, Mentor, Coach, and friend.
You said roses were our destiny lying in wait,
And one day we shall conquer, it is written, it is fate.
You touched the fans, and took your vision far.
You rescued our youth, and helped them reach the stars.
You came to us to save the day,
But way too soon you went away.
You have been promoted to the highest cloud.
You know coach the angels, and God will be proud.
