The title pretty much sums it up. I'm a very passionate fan and stick it out until they're at least mathematically eliminated from playoff contention...reality usually sets in just before Christmas and I try to use the holiday to distract myself from another depressing football season mercifully coming to a close.

I don't know why I picked this year, but for whatever reason, I was at a wedding this afternoon, and just didn't give a s*** about what they were doing. It makes me sad in a way, the underperforming millionaires and terrible top-level management has taken away something I used to actually look forward to; gladly handing over time and money to support this organization. Now I just want to fast forward, see who wins the Super Bowl, and pray it's not the Pats.

The defense is a train wreck and can't believe our o-line is still an issue....we've been talking about this since the Jake Long days. Seems like its the same problems year after year and the song and dance gets old....oh the new coach needs at least three years... tanne is good, just a bad o-line....oh Tanne just needs time to get comfortable with the new system....our talent evaluators suck and we need to draft better....just need to fix our LBs and secondary. When will this 20 year cycle of s*** get fixed?

Never thought I'd actually pine for the Jay Fiedler days....sadly for me, at my age, they were the good old days.....smh how miserable.

I feel exactly the same way. I don't have much gumption to even watch them. The team is a fricken joke. We're a missed Cleveland FG away from being 0-5 right now.

The Dolphins have actually been embarrassingly bad long enough that they've lost an entire generation. No offense but the people who remember the 70's teams are probably going to be dead sooner than later. There are no kids down here who give a **** about the team. We went from one of the fundamental pillars of the league's success to some Lions/Browns cluster**** of a team.

If I don't have anything planned, I can't help but watch them. I simply have to know, even when its awful. But I felt so liberated when I missed my first games by choice in almost 15 years last year and had a heck of a day instead of watching the Dolphins losing.

It is a combination of things for me....it started with Krapernick and then 3 Dolphins not standing for the National Anthem and compounded by the product on the field. I have 50 yard line 8th row tickets to the Chargers game and may not even go.

Its times like these that im reminded that i should spend more time with my wife and kids

I feel your pain. We all do. How did we sink so low?

Just had our first....can't guarantee I push him to be a fins fan. Wouldn't be fair to the poor kid to make him watch this garbage every week.

But him being here does help with perspective though this team's failures still gnaw at me.

I'm assuming that's you in the picture. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, and I apologize for the disrespect you and other service members have been shown.

Last 2 years, I stopped cheering and just watched. No optimism or pessimism. But this year I'm over it. I missed the Browns game and didn't care. Usually, I'd do anything I could to see it at a sports bar. Today, me and the wife went someplace to see the game because we wanted to get out of the house. I wasn't going to wear a Fins shirt. Believe that? I was embarrassed to rep my team. Anyway, I will definitely not be spending 50 at a bar to watch the Steelers crush us. And to tell you the truth, I'm very disappointed in Ross not addressing the kneeling issue.

I put a Poll up last year or the year before. I think it was called "when did you become a fan". Although some had great stories, the poll easily proved my thinking. There are not many new fans in the last 10 years.
I don't remember and won't bother looking it up but it was significant. Why would you be a new fan? Perhaps you like Miami or Dolphins or a certain player, but really what part of the team would you be a fan of? What is some part of the team that is awesome that makes you say, "Miami is the greatest and I want them to be my team"? There use to be good answers to this. I use to be a fan. Now I just cheer for them. There are on the other hand some great teams out there. Mogwai you are so right on the money.

Yup, next week is gunna hurt, especially considering I live in Pennsylvania and have a lot of Steelers fan friends.

Lucky for me, I already shelled out the dough for Sunday Ticket for the 6th year....lol maybe I'll think better of that next season.

^^ Where in PA do you live? I'm from Waynesboro, but live just south of there in MD now. LOTS of steelers fans around here! I'm looking for at least a 5 td day for big Ben next week....sad.

I've been meh for a few years now. Oh, there is the joy of a new season..that fades quickly. I don't get to watch too many games because I work every sunday...blessing I guess!
When I do watch, I treat it like I'm watching a movie. I have some idea of the plot, there may be a little suspense, and a somewhat "roller coaster ride", but I have a pretty good idea half way through how it is going to end!

Well you have more patience for this team's crap then I do. Prior to 2004, I never lost interest this early. Since then, however, I'd say 2004, 2006, 2007, 2011, and 2015 are just as bad as this year. Of course, every year that this happens again is worse due to the cumulative effect, but it's all in the same crappy ballpark.
