I have watched him play at all 3 levels highschool (played at my rival school), college and now the pros HE STARES DOWN HIS RECIEVERS BIG TIME. Does this seem noticable and a problem to others?

They said they drafted Pat White to be a Quarterback.

hmm

If Henne can't cut it then start Pat White next year,,,,assuming Penny is gone.

I commented on the fact the he stares down his receivers last season. What bothers even more about him now is the fact that he takes too many sacks. On one of them he actually caused it when it ran directly toward the defender. On the other he just didn't seem to have any pocket presence/awareness. I hope that he develops but as of right now I am not convinced that we don't need another QB....

That is the one thing I'll have to disagree with most....if Henne has ANYTHING....it's pocket awareness....I like how he always steps up in the pocket....

His protection just broke down...especially when Andrew Gardner couldn't sustain his block when Henne was trying to step up....

To me...he just holds the ball too long sometimes....he still doesn't process information fast enough...

Henne was doing 5 step drops.....the ball has to come out after you complete your drop and hitch....this is the NFL...

Maybe no one was open.

Would you prefer he threw it to covered guys for INT's ?

I would prefer him make a decision and go with it.....rather than be indecisive....Hell, he's throwing the picks when he holds it too long....that's what allows the defenders to read your eyes...sorta like that 12th string defensive lineman did...

Like I said this is the NFL....you're not going to have a lot of guys running wide open in this league...

Either way...when you're doing a 5 step drop....you have to know that you don't have long after you complete your drop to get rid of the football...

I'd rather see him anticipate a guy being open rather than seeing him be open...

hes gonna be a good back up to pat white next year :foundout:

Why so Pat White could run the ball every other play in between bad passes. Lol @ White being a starter. White hasnt even shown he could play in the league either.

Henne needs to learn, its only one freakin game, Penny needs to be resigned and let the kid work himself ready. Everyone expects freakin miracles, you guys will see...remember this thread, Ryan and Flacco will regress this season, teams will blitz and hit them and and thats when the sophmore jinx kicks in. Let Henne keep learning, we are lucky because I think Penny still has a few years in him (2-3) where Henning can continue to learn.

Frankly you can't judge him for the preseason... He has shown some good things and some bad things during this stretch but as with any NFL QB you have to play in the games to begin to make the decisions and the reads you need to make... If you only get limited action and mop up duties you are never going to get timing down... I won't judge Henne until he earns the starting job or does not earn it... It is a similar situation to Beck... He could not ever get any rythym but never could show enough to warrent more time and eventually lost his job...
