don't know if this has been discussed already, if so my apologies. now i know combine no#s doesn't mean your a football player. i compared the numbers for receivers, corners and safetys.what caught my eye was allens 10 and 20 yd times.he placed 1st in both ctaegories for all 3 groups. derek hagan was 1st for wrs. in the 10 yd and 3rd in the 20yd.the fastest 40 time for safetys belonged to michael huff. johnathon joseph was the fastest corner and chad jackson was the fastest wr.joseph was the fastest overall.
 
Allen can cover a lot of ground REAL fast thats never been an issue CKP had a long post about Allens amazing athleticism before the draft...Unfortunately he hasnt picked up the system fast enough to crack the starting line-up but make no mistake he is a physical specimen like few others in the league.
 
jason allen will be a great corner but he shot himself and the phins in the foot by not coming to camp, if he comes to camp on time he would probably have gotten most of the defense and could contribute but right now he is playing catchup

I think the plan is for him to play Safety.
 
that is why the guy is so talented and such a great pick, he can play safety( i didnt know that is what they were using him for) and cb

he is going to be a great player bank on it
 
No player has put up such a good combination of numbers at the combine in about 6 years. A VERY physical specimen. BUT not ready to lead the defense yet.

yes...CK did a writeup about just how impressive his numbers were compared to others. He fared VERY well...

but he must be a bust right...because he's not starting...:goof:
 
A "Bust"? The only thing that can be considered a bust is his agent....if i (and i think a lot of ppl in general) were his agent...id get him in there asap, and not dance around a bunch of numbers for his and my own paycheck...when you get 43% of the Rookie Salary Cap, you are pretty much set for awhile.
