With the signing of Tillman and J. Allen moving to CB, it is obvious Allen can't crack the lineup for the position he was drafted for. Is the move to CB a last ditch effort to see if he can be a starter on our D? As the 16th overall pick he should have contributed a lot more then he did last year. There are numerous DB's that got picked after him that seen substantially more playing time for their respective teams. If Allen can't win a starting position anywhere in the defensive backfield this year, is he officially considered a 1st round bust? I would think so. Hopefully he will play to a 1st round pick level, but I was not exactly thrilled when we picked him in the 16 spot.

Hill played well last year as did Bell they will be the starters IMO. You also have a new GM running things, or well the same GM but now he has controll. Along with a new head coach. It was pretty obvious Saban favored Vets over rookies, and Allen did play well when given the chance near the end of the year.

What I mean is Mueller and Cameron may have a different plan for him than Saban did. They are moving a CB/S to CB where they think he will be most successful rather than S where Saban thought he would be most successful.

You should always give players 3-4 years before you label them a bust, some guys just come on later in their careers or taking a little longer to grasp things early on. Other guys picked later outplayed him, but you could say that about guys from any draft really and your rookie season doesnt mean much if you dont continue to progress.

Just my opinion.

I stopped reading after your first sentence

TILLMAN PLAYED WELL LAST YEAR:sidelol:

I think Travis Daniels is back healthy this year and expected to start at CB.

Hopefully Allen can win the 3rd position and Goodman can go to fourth and then next year we can let Goodman go and Mitchell or a draft pick can be fourth. I'm hoping Mitchell plays well enough so Lehan can get cut this year.

For some reason I was thinking of Hill. I thought Hill played really well last season, Tillman played like crap. I edited what I originally had wrote, but everything after the words Tillman is pretty much the same.

I personally believe Allen will be a better CB than safety. Allen's natural instincts for safety is very shaky and that is a must-have for that position. The brain of the defense IMO, is the safety position. All playmaking safeties have one thing in common... natural instincts. I'm confident that JAson Allen will be a solid cornerback.

Tillman wont be starting at safety, he probably wont even play unless its a dime safety

Travis daniels is nothing better than a nickel corner.. He just just doesnt have the coverage or man to man skills to be a starter. W. Allen will start one side, and unless J. Allen beats out Goodman for the other side, Goodman will start

Guys..you are looking AT the problem..not IN to it..Just ask yourself WHO drafter him..and all questions will be answered...)))

Really, the same senario goes for C-Pepp
I odnt know about that..IF CPEP woulda chilled on da bench this season..you pbly wouldnt be saying this, and be excited for the upcommin season.
I sitl lbelive he can bounce back. Personally, Igive him one more year..after that I'll ask Joey to give him Da Boot!

he will function much better as a CB than a S. I think this is a great move on the part of the dolphins D

idk about the change in position can he learn a new position in one off season?

Here's an article that tries to get people to stop jumping to conclusions so quickly about Jason Allen. Just because he's changing positions doesn't mean he's a bust.

Check out the article here.

What do you think?

Good article and hopefully he can prove me wrong. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I was basing my opinion on the play of other DB's drafted after him.
