He is still a longshot to make it, but it is his dream so I wish him well.
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl-folsom-miami-dolphins-081509,0,5964012.storyAfter being nearly invisible the first week of training camp, Miami Dolphins rookie inside linebacker J.D. Folsom is starting to show up a little more. The seventh-round draft pick out of Weber State can sense the improvement as well.
"I just feel like I'm getting a grasp on the defense," Folsom said. "At first when you're just thinking about everything you have to do, your reaction time is a lot slower. Now I feel like I'm getting the hang of the defense. That's definitely helped me out a lot being able to just play."
Folsom credits veterans Channing Crowder, Akin Ayodele and Reggie Torbor with sharing information that has helped him make the transition as well.
"Those guys are always giving me tips, little things that help, things they've picked up being in the league," Folsom said. "I'm just trying to take those things and apply them to what I do. It's been helping. It's nice having them."
Folsom also welcomed his wife and 4 ½-month-old daughter Jonnie to town on Saturday. They will stay with friends in Plantation through the end of training camp, which should give him an even better support system to make it through the daily grind.
