let me just say that i have always liked this kid and i can't belive we got him for a sixth talk about a steal that is highway robbery!!!!:sidelol: :lol:

I disagree. Now a 2nd for A.J. Feeley, is highway robbery.
 
It was a great trade by Saban. I knew Joey had ability because I watched him up here in the North West and I was always impressed. He just needed to get out of that garbage of a franchise that is Detroit. I believe in a year or two we will be able to get a 3rd or maybe a 2nd rounder for Joey. Isn't Saban just genious. He treated this like a stock market. He bought low, and I think he will eventually sell high. BEAUTIFUL!
 
Yeah, a 6th is a very good value for Joey...

Remember, the only reason we were able to do it was because Joey was due a huge roster bonus in June. Detroit was going to cut him anyway.
The only reason we gave anything was to get Joey here sooner, and avoid a bidding war (but Joey already said Miami was the place for him, so maybe a bidding war wasn't a conern.....just getting him here sooner).

Same thing with C-pep. Only reason we got him for a 2nd was because he was forcing the issue and burned bridges with the new coach, and Minny was probably going to cut him loose.

Funniest part of the trade was when Millen, genius that he is, tried to put a stop to the trade to hold out for a higher pick. Saban disengaged from any talks and said we'll just wait until Joey is released. Millen folded like the horrible bluffer that he is. Classic. Haven't seen a GM in over his head like that since...well, since Spielman got played by the Patriots into giving up a fourth rounder to pass up on Wilfork and take an inferior player in Carey.

:lol: I agree. A 3rd rounder for Lamar Gordon wasn't too far off "prison rape" status either. Not to mention it was a very early 2nd and 3rd for those two.

Ahhh, what does Saban know, he's just the HC and in the business of knowing who can play and who can't! Why would he know how good Joey is?? Isn't Joey a bum?? Doesn't everything he did in Detroit tell you all you need to know about who he is and what he's destine to be?? I mean, why would a players preformance improve just because the talent and coaching around him improves?? Once a bum always a bum, guaranteed!!
