I got the Eagles taking him at 96

Glove fit. I think he'll go earlier. Even accounting for need to develop and uncertainty around his development, the upside in conjunction with special traits and reported A+ character should see him go earlier imo.

The only reason I think Milroe could be in play, assuming he makes it to 48, is McDaniel's love of speed. In a way, I think he could be the ideal type of quarterback McDaniel would draft if Miami didn't have Tua and he were starting out.

I think they're going to target immediate contributors as often as possible. I doubt they draft a QB - unless they just don't like the other options available.

To me, QB comes down to: 1) can you build an offense around him? 2) how does he stress the defense? 3) does he execute consistently enough for 1 and 2 to matter?

Most QB prospects don't have resounding positive answers across the three. For Milroe, it's all about 3. We have proof of concept in building around QB's with Milroe's skillset, and he stresses defenses in ways few QB's can. He's still picking up nuances and struggling with consistency, and it would have been great for him to get another year of college ball, but he's at a pretty good spot relative to his experience.

Imo his style of play would work best with bigger, more-physical receivers - WR's or TE's, but he can throw the snot out of the ball, so he could unlock something in the deep passing game with Waddle and if Hill is still on the roster. If Miami traded Hill and replaced him with idk, say, Tre Harris, I'd like the fit better.

I agree. I could definitely see Miami targeting a quarterback 4th round or later, but highly doubt Grier looks earlier than that.

Riley Leonard may have enough upside 4th roundish. There are times when it looks like he has everything, except for consistency.

The problem is Miami has so many needs, and important ones to boot. The defensive line needs a near rebuild. Corner opposite Ramsey, safety, offensive line etc.

When I do mocks, it's hard to fit in running backs or tight ends. I end up drafting those guys late. I think Grier does the same.

Any intrigue with Brady Cook as a late round flyer? I see some Josh Allen in his game, reminds me of Allen coming out of Wyoming.
