JT has only 4 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 pressure in 3 games. I have yet to see him hit a TE coming off the line, and he seems lost in coverage.

To compare, last season Roth and Anderson (coming in on passing downs) averaged 5 tackles A GAME, and put on a whole lot more pressure/hits.

Gates had 5 catches for 63 yards, and was wide open for much more, last Sunday.

I'm hoping that Roth comes back, and JT makes a difference as a pass rush specialist. I believe that was the plan.

Opinions?

No arguments here. It's no secret how I felt about JT all along. I thought before the season ever started he was washed up. Everyone placed his value so high and laughed when Roth was sitting out. It was said that JT would have a monster season and that he would be back to form as a complete player. I didn't buy any of it. Just goes to show how absolutely blind player fans can be. The guy is 35 and done. He doesn't care about winning all he cares about is getting his name in the paper. Pisses me off when we are losing and he is out there smiling. Play someone else and sit JT down. I would like to see Wake at this point.

JT is definately not the JT of old, but to be fair, most of our D has been very subpar. I have a feeling, IF our D can play at the level they played at last year, then JT can be more productive.

He is obviously not a dominate defensive player anymore.

Who knows, maybe he just needs an old AFC East rival to get back into the swing of things. Hopefully, that is the case.

He is an average linebacker but I believe he still has the athleticism to play at a high level, maybe not as well as before but still effective enough to at least get 10 sacks this season. When using JT you have to be more creative, lining him up at CB, positioning him at DE at times, that's how Saban got him DPOY. Saban got JT moving all around the defense.

Yeah I began to forget he was out there at all this year. What is the deal with Roth anyway? Can I not expect to see him for the rest of the season or will he eventually be back?

I agree with the post that JT hasn't done much so far, but I don't really see how Roth's absence is a big deal at all...

It's not like Roth was ever great at anything besides run defense... and our run defense is top 3 in the league right now I believe. I don't think he woulda made much of a difference stopping the TE's either.

I liked the JT signing, thinking he would be splitting time with Roth, and be a big upgrade for Anderson on passing downs. I still believe he can change games in that position but, not as a full time player.

I disagree. Our DL has been FRAKIN GREAT, best in the NFL IMO. They are not supposed to have good stats, just take up blockers and allow the LBs to make plays. They have done both.

Aside from a few plays, JT is just not taking advantage of their play.

His agent said he will be ready for game #6. I hope he's right. We really do miss him.

Age and the position change have worked against JT. I really wish someone in management would come clean on Roth. Is he done for the year or will we see him after game 6?

Yeah, our DL has been great, but our pass coverage is lousy. Can't get many sacks if the QB has the ball out of his hands in three seconds.

Langford has 7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 hit, and 4 pressures. Starks- 8, 0, 1, and 4. Merling- 6, 1, 2, and 2. And they're playing in a rotation, 3 vs 5 blockers, to free up the LBs.

Considering the circumstances, JT and JP are playing worse than Ginn and Crowder.

Being #3 in run defense is so very deceiving when NO TEAMS RUN ON YOU BECAUSE THERE TO BUSY TORCHING YOUR SECONDARY...:rolleyes2:

JT has only looked like his old self on a hand full of plays this year but last year Gates was hurt and not near 100%.

Anyways Roth is the Better LOLB at this point, well when ever he's ever ready to go again.

I wouldn't venture that far. Ayodele, Crowder, Bell, and Wilson could not cover anyone right now. They are the cause of our problems. I didn't notice, but how well has our run defense been? I think JT is on the SOLB, right? JP and JT can only do so much. Like I said, it is hard to get a sack if the QB can get the ball out of his hands in three seconds.

Oh, btw, JP is on pace for at least 10 sacks and 3FF, JT is on pace for at least 5 sacks. Not worse than Crowder and Ginn.
