Lets be honest here folks.

-Brian billick aint working with jeff ireland or ross for that matter, billick-fisher-cowher-gruden all want FINAL personal say, not all want final say but they want to have say to where they can make an impact on decisions and ireland and ross arent giving it to them so any high profile coach isnt coming here. Fisher was clear cut proof of that. You can rule billick out, did i also mention that ross hates billick for some dum reason?

At this point, im leaning towards jack del rio. I know people are going to call me crazy but del rio is a great coach, just never had an owner that would let him spemd smoney to get what he needed to get help for the jags, with that said del rio did some good things in jacksonville that showed me hes a great HC. He will make our talented defense a powerhouse, yes hes a defensive minded head coach which some dolphins fans dont seem to want but that is exactly what this dolphins defense needs, he would make the dolphins defense physical and mentally tough. Jacksonville defense last season was great but there qb woes made there offense a huge problem along with no weapons, which led to the dissappointing season and del rio being fired. Give del rio miamis offense with an upgrade at qb and you will see good results along with the defense that would be dominant. Heres an article on del rio turning the jags around when coughlin had trouble himself turning that team around after there talents diminished (fred taylor, brunell ect....)

n 2003, Del Rio became the second head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars following Tom Coughlin's dismissal. In his first season, he led the team to a 5–11 record. In 2004, the Jaguars narrowly missed the playoffs with a 9–7 record, the first winning record in five seasons. The following season, the team made the playoffs as a wild card team.

another + from del rio is that he and ireland might be a good partnership with del rio allowing ireland to handle personnel so he can focus on coaching.

Some ppl might say del-rios run first offense is not what we want but at this point its whats best for the fins, we dont have a qb with a strong arm or worth a damn and we sure as hell aint gettin a good qb worth a damn at #8.

Alot of of dolphins fans want chud/zimmer/carmichael jr but do we really wanna take another chance at gettin another sparano 2.0? can this franchise even survive another year with another sparano 2.0 ? ?? I'll take any dels rios over sparanos any day. What about you?

Sorry but if we want to get a conservative, Martyball type of coach, then why not just hire Marty?

[h=2]"Jack Del Rio Would be a great option For Miami "[/h]No...no he wouldn't.

What?

The guy who had 3 winning seasons in 9 years? Who regularly cut his starting quarterbacks days before the start of the season? Who simply stopped coming to work on time his entire final season?

I know people are desperate to get this done but good lord.

yeah because of all that success he had in Jax? Oh wait..

Worst idea yet. Sure that is what you want for your head coach. A guy that works 9 to 5 and has no clue what he is doing. I guess if you have an extra ax and some wood he would be motivational...

Del rio aint conservatist, he plays smart football. If the games on the line like that cowboys-fins game this year, i guarantee you del rio goes all out for the win. Thats the difference between sparano and del rio, sparano plays not to lose, del rio plays to win but with smart football.

He wanted out of that job, the owner didnt wanna win, didnt wanna spend money cause he was going to sell the team, ofcourse that will frustrate any coach. If ross is behind del rio and supports him 100% like an owner is suppose too, it will be a great deal for the dolphins. You can say he wasnt successful in jacksonville the last few years but why did he get an extension? why did he last 9 years in the nfl? its the same situations with fisher and bud adams, when your owner aint behind you, things go bad.

So what, if he doesnt get his way he will pout and take his ball and go home? Thats what we want in a head coach? Yeah that sounds reasonable and adult. But then again, its par for the course with Del Rio, as he threw a hissy fit when Jimmy Johnson cut him for "some 5th round pick"(ended up being Zach Freakin Thomas).

And he lasted 9 years in the NFL, and received that contract extension, because Wayne Weaver screwed up. Weaver admitted it. Weave felt he did such a poor job that he sold the team. He also admitted the biggest mistake he made was firing Tom Coughlin. Del Rio received that contract extension because David Garrard called a quarterback sneak(at first against the wishes of his coach and OC, before finally talking them into it) against the Steelers in a wild card game. True to form, a few years later Del Rio cut his quarterback on a whim just days before the season.

I love how people on this forum think its the worst thing humanly possible to not show full support for your head coach. Believe it or not, good coaches rise up against adversity. Tom Coughlin was about to be fired when his Giants got hot and won the Superbowl. Del Rio couldnt even have a winning season. Just because someone is a "name" doesn't mean they are good. Del Rio is a subpar coach who played favoritism, was inconsistent in the way he treated his players, was unprepared as a head coach, and, finally, stopped showing up to work because he "couldnt have it his way". Which one of those qualities do you approve of?

yeah no. Only reason he lasted so long was because the Jags couldn't afford to pay him AND another coach. Hell when Pete Carroll went to Seattle Gene Smith and Wayne Weaver were desperately trying to convince JDR to take the USC job. Only reason he was fired this year was because the team was sold and the new guy could afford to get rid of him.

Unlike tony sparano, del rio aint going to take the **** sparano took down here in miami, which impresses me the most. It made every dolphin sick watching our head coach gettin embarrassed by ross last year while watching sparano just take punches after punches along with his buddy ireland also taking shots behind his back. Del rio would not stand for that. He made a mistake firing coughlin you say? how so, after 5 losing season you would not fire coughlin? LOL , so del rio was frustrated about being cut, when you get fired from your job you are not a bit frustrated? especially when you have a family to support?

no he lasted so long because the cheap *** owner didnt wana spend money on free agents nor did he wanna spend money on a new coach when he planned to sell the team.
