### Besides Ryan Tannehill needing to work with new coach Adam Gase on technical issues, the feedback inside the building is that Tannehill must become a better leader, something that frustrated at least one member of the former staff.Tannehill is likable, but a Dolphins person described him as an introvert, and it’s telling that teammates voted center Mike Pouncey, not the quarterback, as the winner of their leadership award.

### Considering Pro Football Focus ranked Earl Mitchell by far the worst against the run of 104 defensive tackles --- one scout said he was surprised how often he was blown off the ball --- the Dolphins would have hoped Jordan Phillips would be ready to be a starter next season. The departing staff believe he’s not remotely ready for that and the front office also expects more.

Beyond issues with consistency, the Dolphins want Phillips in better shape; he has been told to lose 10 pounds (to 315) and reduce his body fat.

And “I need to get a little more physical,” he said.

The departing staff also believed Rishard Matthews needed to be in the doghouse for three years.

**** those clowns.

Agree that Phillips need to get in better shape. Mitchell should be shown the door. He fricken blows.

Phillips need to camp out in the weight room and replace his fat with muscle.

DT is a tough position for a young player. I do think that the team should cut Mitchell and sign a veteran DT to help mentor Phillips. Between that vet and Suh, Phillips would come along.

I thought Phillips played alright last year.

Bring Marino in makes sense even if half this story is true. Ryan is not a field general, clowns or not he isn't.

I'm not ready to cash out Tannehill but he does need to step up his leadership.

For those ready to crucify Ryan just remember there are multiple reports that Ray Lewis was never the leader of that defense and that Ed Reed was the true leader.

Team leadership doesn't always come from traditional spots.

The departing staff also thought Brian Hartline was worth a 5 year 30 million dollar contract After a career high 4 TD season.

Holy ****ing ****. :puke:

We have more problems than I thought (If that's even possible). This is the same asshole that doesn't feel the need to participate in lifts and workouts. Yeah, great f'n team leader.

I thought so too..

Who's the guy that's been responsible for instilling leadership in Tannehill his whole career? I'm surprised anybody on the team has an ounce of leadership.

Mitchell needs to go. Phillips cannot play nose tackle in the NFL. His back is bad and kept him from performing in college so to put in as a nose tackle in a 3/4 in the NFL is crazy. He will be on IR quickly. He has a lot of talent and can be very effective in a 4/3 or on the outside of the of 4/3. For Miami to go thru to the 3/4 which means we must have a true nose tackle and 2 inside linebackers in the draft or free agency on top of getting help on the oline. Tall order. Keep the 4/3 next year find 1 inside linebacker, replace Mitchell with a plugger get a superior guard and a little help in the backfield and we are ready to rumble.

He doesn't get a fair shot. How could he ever be the true leader with guys like Pouncey, Jones, Wake and Misi on the team? Those are strong personalities that were here before Ryan. How could Ryan come in and take control of the team over a guy like Wake? Its not his personality. Not to mention Landry, Suh, Albert, Vernon, Sheppard etc. are all leaders in their own right. When Ryan was drafted there were countless leaders on the team. He can't win in this category.....

Who was leading Baltimore when they won their first Superbowl? Ed was not there. Ray was the leader.

Russell Wilson did it in Seattle. They have a lot more strong personalities than we do.
