According to a source, the Dolphins summoned San Diego State safety Eric Pinkins to team headquarters today to meet with coaches and front office officials. Pinkins, a 6-3 strong safety, had 75 tackles last season, with four passes breakups, two forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles.

He wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine, and the Dolphins have used a few of their pre-draft visits on players who weren’t at the Combine, including two Arizona players listed below.

Teams are allowed to bring 30 non-local players to their headquarters for pre-draft visits, and here are the 15 I’ve independently confirmed:

Tennessee offensive tackle Ju'waun James

Georgia State offensive tackle/guard Ulrick John

Nebraska guard/tackle Spencer Long

Kansas State offensive tackle Cornelius Lucas

Marshall offensive tackle Garrett Scott

Rice cornerback Phillip Gaines

Washington tight end Austin Seferian Jenkins

Clemson receiver Martavis Bryant

USC receiver Marqise Lee

LSU receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Mississippi receiver Donte Moncrief

Arizona cornerback Shaquille Richardson

Arizona outside linebacker Marquis Flowers

San Diego State safety Eric Pinkins

Marist defensive end Terence Fede

Clemson offensive tackle/guard Brandon Thomas was invited to visit but canceled his visit after tearing an ACL during a pre-draft workout with the Saints.

Jeff Ireland drafted several of the players that he brought to Davie for pre-draft visits. We’ll see if Dennis Hickey does the same.

A couple of quick snippets from Joe Philbin's and Mike Wallace's interviews with the team-owned WINZ radio show today:
### Philbin said he likes Knowshon Moreno’s “versatility and multiple skill set.”

### Philbin, on new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor: “Bill has done an excellent job.…. We’re going to be stressing the tempo of our offense, the play speed."

### Mike Wallace said Ryan Tannehill "has texted me eight, nine times" because he's excited about Lazor's offense. "Everybody is excited about the new offense."

### Wallace: "We can't have the kind of year we had last year."

### Phibin said he told his linebackers “we need more game-changing plays.”

At least we understand what the main problem is. Hickey is doing his due diligence to help fix what Ireland help destroy.
 
Oh we finally got an OC that the players like?
Anyone got a rundown on these linemen we brought in? Good fits?
 
I am still on the fence of whether putting RT in a brand new offense is good or not.

Man, this just keeps on getting better and better. Not only does Jeff Ireland waste our first two picks in last years draft on an injured player, who, in spite of being the third pick taken in the entire draft, could not get on the field. Now we find out that he doesn't even know the fundamentals at his position. And we wonder why it has been six seasons since our last winning season and over a decade since our last playoff win. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Thank you again Jeff Ireland.

I think hes smart enough and talented enough to adjust and grow, just needs the protection and practice

Compared to what we had last year on offense ,we added a true offensive mind in Lazor,we now have a star left tackle I Albert. We have a guy smart enough to us Wallace to be a weapon. We have a dependable RB . I believe we are a playoff team for the first time in many years and if the pieces develop as I believe they will, We could be the Seattle of the East ,

um, he was the consensus top defensive player available in last year's draft, and we gave up a fraction of what should have been necessary to take him at #3. you should be thanking jeff ireland, and not sarcastically.

I'm looking forward to it from the perspective that he no longer has his security blanket college offense anymore.

We're about to find out if this kid is a QB talent or just an athlete trying to "look" the part.
