Jackson's 4/22 sports buzz: booked visits for Fins, Tannehill/Wallace texts, + more

I'm looking forward to it from the perspective that he no longer has his security blanket college offense anymore.

We're about to find out if this kid is a QB talent or just an athlete trying to "look" the part.

IMO I already know from what ive seen out of Tannehill to know that WE HAVE OUR Franchise QB , it may take others to have to see more to prove Tannehill is for Real , I use to play the possion in High School I know its a lot different from School ball (its a hell of a lot faster pace ) but with the arm strength and accuracy , and for the little time he had to get rid of the ball , and the sacks he took last season , yeah I have seen enough to say HE IS A FRANCHISE QB , and I think he will excel with the new offence lazer is putting him in ....and I think he will have no doubters after the season coming up. Our Boy Is FOR REAL !!!!!!

um, he was the consensus top defensive player available in last year's draft, and we gave up a fraction of what should have been necessary to take him at #3. you should be thanking jeff ireland, and not sarcastically.

Nonsense. It was hardly consensus. Jordan did the typical vault up the boards in the final months. That's often flimsy.

Nolan Nawrocki of Pro Football Weekly had 5 defenders rated higher than Jordan in his final grades. They were Sheldon Richardson, Sylvester Williams, Star Lotulelei, Dee Milner and Jarvis Jones. I'm not sure how many of those guys we could get in a straight up trade for Jordan, but it certainly wouldn't be all of them. Some of those teams would laugh in our face.

Nolan Nawrocki is not the oracle. By any means. These ultra-athletic guys in last year's draft (Jordan, Ansah, Mingo) all need to refine their trade and they have to be brought along at the logical pace. Neither Mingo nor Ansah were injured and they arguably showed less than Jordan. I was a big Syl Williams fan and he didn't really do much in his first season. Dee Millner was a bit of a liability for the Jets, corners need time because it's a skill position (like, say, defensive end/OLB). Jarvis Jones was the No.1 ranked draft pick right up until his sup-par combine results convinced the stat monkeys that what they saw on tape wasn't real. Even then, Jones' production was solid rather than stellar. Maybe 40 tackles and a sack, something like that.

Richardson and Star were projected right up there with Jordan and they've delivered on their billing. I'm absolutely convinced Jordan will too. If you really watched him, he was very disruptive last season, created big plays for teammates and was within a whisker of maybe doubling his sack stats.

boy will we be rolling with some finesse ot's if we pair albert with jawaun james...be a pillow fight on the outside...at least the pass pro should be pretty shored up...reminds me of anthony collins with his game...better foot and bend athlete than you really see on tape...can drop his hips very good feet at the combine

mosley saw something yesterday that got my attention...zero sacks this last season at bama...maybe i read it wrong...don't know how much they blitzed him but i do know coyle likes to blitz the lbs a ton and expects pressure production from them....

seeing a lot of mantavious bryant wont get out of the top 50 stuff...that's too rich for my blood...doesnt run thru contact poor mans aj green in some regards...not physical finesse smooth athlete wr

Tannehill is more then smart enough to make the transition to a new offense (which is still and WCO so I don't know how new it will be)

If B Thomas is there in the 7th....take a flyer on him....good feet, long arms, could be a steal in a couple of years.

not even sure why he listed anthony barr...what a poor scheme fit that would be...yeesh

It worked out well with Dion Jordan.......

jordans at least an elite athlete...barr at lb in our d would be awful...would be a poor 43 de fit also...needs to be in a 34...that kids getting overdrafted anyways theres nothing elite about his edge rush tools...khalil macks are way better...way more strength in his hands and shock and explosion

Some are viewing him as a top 5 pick....at the worse top 10....don't get the love for him....

Also I was being a little sarcastic...

Carlos Dunlap? Seen as a top 5 pick after his sophomore year, didn't do **** as a junior, and fell to the 2nd round.

yeah a little more athletic dunlap type...long like dunlap etc but didn't wow you with anything off the edge...kinda pro that you get and you have playing for years but never really becomes an alpha guy...the thing is though dunlap was always more a 43 de type barrs like the 34 olb version of that kind of guy...

at least to me...i can think of a number of edge rush guys i'd prefer over him

It's not just about "smarts".

Offense is basically the same (WCO) with some different terminology, and formations....it won't be a huge change for him.

As for "smart"...football savvy, understanding of the game....he will make the transition with ease.

i'm not concerned at all about tannehills ability to execute a new offense...may be some hiccups as part of the process but being able to execute an offense not worried at all...not sure i think this teams headed to a run heavy o either especially with our current personnel best mismatch opportunities coming from 3 wide personnel...if they add some high pick skill position players on o i could see that changing...maybe more 2 tight end sets and 2 wr stuff
