Jackson's Sunday buzz- interesting tidbits

I have no concerns with our defense this year, but i really will not have a feel for the defense until training camp is over.

I'm worried most about not replacing Paul Soliai. Now we have no anchor DT to command a double team. That ears our gap penetrators--which are ALL of our DT's now--will have a harder time penetrating and will be double teamed whenever the play is called to their holes.

The upshot is that we can and will be worn down by strong power run teams. What we now NEED to do is jump out into the lead and get the other team to get away from the run. When they go to mostly passing our pass rushers on the outside, blitzing LB's and numerous gap penetrating DT's can pin their ears back and cause problems for the opposing QB.

Our play style is now like all of Peyton Manning's teams ... get the lead and pass rush. If our offense can't do that, we will have problems.

This move puts a lot of pressure on the offense to be good fast.

Thiggy better hope they don't move him to wr...have to say jamar Taylor's mental make up bothers me...seems like the kind of kid that will carry one snap in his head to the next...exactly what you don't want at corner...

I can't believe there's no talk about will davis lack of strength and hand use...finnegan 6 mil guaranteed and hasn't had a good season since 2011 the article says...be ready Jimmy Wilson...you are likely heading to corner again at some point...aikens and Davis don't look like slot options to me

If jamar Taylor doesn't step up this unit could be in some serious trouble...come on dion Jordan take that pass rush to the next level and hide some of these glaring deficiencies

When Thigpen gets opportunities on offense he makes plays but he's not great at punt returning. Hopefully we find a way to work him into the offense more.

Lazor may be the one who can utlilize Thigpen properly on offense.

p.s. (edit) Finnegan IMO will be a great mentor for Will Davis.

This whole season comes down to:

Lazor's O producing 25+ points just abuot every game and players like Dion Jordon making his impact while players like Micheal Thomas, Jamar Taylor, Mitchell, Phillip Wheeler (yes, he needs to play with more control and understanding), and Reshad Jones take their play to a level we are expecting.

I am expecting Starks, Odrick, Wake, Misi, Grimes, ect to remain the same without injury. I fully expect the Oline to be much improved so one can expect the team to be better in this regard.

Coaching is the key in all of this.

I normally agree with you but calling Delmas mediocre at best is laughable.
When healthy is a very good Safety

Very good? I mean, I know everybody's talent level rises a bit once they sign with the Phins, but c'mon. You might be able to argue above average. I'll take the solid starter without the health issues over the guy who might be "above average" and is celebrated for finally playing a full season (minus a lot of practices) any day.

Obviously, I hope he reaches "very good" status and stays healthy. Hope. It's gotten me far with this team every year for the past decade, so why not continue.

Delmas is a decent player with huge injury concerns

Hope. Sweet desperate hope.

The life-blood of a Phin fan, lol.

No shelley Smith is Shelly Smith...
Brent Grimes is Brent Grimes.. I dont think anyones talent rises.
I liked Clemons i would of loved a 2 year deal..
But that has no bearing on who Delmas is.
