The same teams initially interested in Jared Allen are interested in Jason Taylor, including Jacksonville and Washington. But that interest comes only for the right price and the price the Dolphins would consider -- a first-round pick -- has been too steep so far. Taylor will be 34 in September and isn't certain about his future beyond 2008. His overall value is debatable unless he agrees to a new contract that ties a guarantee to play several more years to a bonus or salary refund if he doesn't. That is unlikely to happen. -- Miami Herald

Jacksonville has made no secret about it, but news of the Redsins being interested is completely new. This is real good stuff and with all these teams interested JT's price is going up regardless what they are saying....

Nobody is giving up a 1st rounder for Jason Taylor, the sooner they settle for a 2nd and a fourth, the better for the team.

i hope bill doent even flinch unless it is a pick
in the top or middle of the 2nd round.

anything AFTER that is a big fat NO!!!

I'll be happy with a 1st or an early to mid 2nd so that we can move back into the 1st if we really wanted to, or just have 3 2nd round picks. We would also have to get a pick later in the draft or for next year though if we take the 2nd.

If several teams start getting in a bidding war, my money is on Dan Synder and the Redskins to cough up what Parcells wants.

with JT turning 34 at the start of the season,i really don't see any of the teams interested in him giving up any pick higher than a 2nd,and that's pushing it IMO. he may have been the 2006 DPOY,but how much desire to play does he truly have left in him. we know he has a few years at a high level left, but with Hollywood calling him....does he still have the desire to play football anymore?

They are not asking for mid 1st rounder they are asking for a late first rounder, some where in the 20's. I think Bill will try to snag a first, if he see he cant he will settle for 2nd & 4th, but JT will not be traded for a 3rd or 4th, that was already offered by JAXville and declined.

No less then a First round pick in the top 20 picks... heck at this point with 5 teams in the market for JT they may even need to comp us one of their guys...

Tampa has plenty of QB's, Washington has WR's, Philly has D... If I were Parcells I would play hard ball and demand a pick and a good player...

On draft day Bill will take what he can get IMO. I think they know JT doesn't want to play in Miami anymore. I think before the draft we have leverage, once the draft starts all bets are off and players start falling GM see a guy falling to them and want to keep the pick. We need to pull the trigger before the draft. I say Bill fight for a 1st but take the best offer before the draft starts.

I actually have a hard time figuring out why a team like Jacksonville has a hard time even giving up a 2nd. JT has no issues. His being 34 is not an issue. He can definitely play another 5 years and he is still great. I really dont get it.

If your a team on the verge, you have to be somewhat risky anyways by drafting someone who has never stepped foot on an NFL field. Its really not that risky if you think about it. Its one pick for crying out loud! Who are they going to get? that is what I will be real interested to see.

I expected Washington to join the party. They need a pass rusher. JT might like DC... the political seat of power for the most influential country on the planet--lots of media! Short flight to NY, medium flight to Miami.

JT for Washington's pick #21 overall and I'll throw in a fourth if I have to. If they want my third I would swap 3rds with them, but I wouldn't just throw it in.

I only wonder how Taylor will react if he's not traded after this whole circus. Will Jason Taylor want to play for a front office he owes nothing to yet were looking to deal him after stating they wouldn't? I think Taylor is gone even if in the end the price ends up not being a 1st rounder...

Even if JT could play at a high level for 3-5 more years, it doesn't really matter if he doesn't want to. Just recently it was reported that he wants to play the upcoming season, but isn't so sure about the year after that. The fact that "retirement" has been mentioned when talking about him, every offseason for the last 3 years...that is what worries teams.

If JT could play at a high level until he was 39 years old (I don't believe this, but that isn't the point), then that is great. But, teams are more worried that he'll be in some children's comedy with the Rock in 2009 than they are about how good he was on the field two years ago.

This is why getting any value for him right now is a good deal. Sure, we all want a number 1, but reasonably, we probably won't get that. We always complain about the team making bad choices and this and that, but whenever there's a chance to make a logical decision to help the team in the future, everyone gets all mad about it. confusing...

Best thing that could have happened? DAN SNYDER in the mix. Atleast we won't need to worry about him carrying about the cap hit.

If we were gonna get a 1st from anyone it would be Snyder. The guy just offered a 1st and 3rd for Ocho Cinco didn't he?

Forget this year, trick the man into giving us their 1st and 3rd next year for taylor. Tell him " Hey, it's the equivalent of a 2nd and 4th this year, you are getting a bargain"
