Jacobs next year? Are you kidding me!!!!

Just watched the boise state vs bowling green game from thurs. I understand the guy had 3 tds but in this case the numbers definitely do not tell the story. The guy played like ka ka. It was obvious that he couldn't handle the blitz packages and that the zone coverage confused him. Hell, he had trouble with a four man rush. Granted the line wasn't that great but he had time to deliver the ball he just couldn't complete the pass. When i say he should have been picked off at least 4 times then i mean he should have been picked off 4 times. His numbers are lucky that boise state cant catch. He doesn't move really well, he had one 15 yd run, but all in all he is not a mobile athletic qb. He broke one tackle to avoid a sack but then was almost picked. The passes that he did complete for big yardage were basically jump balls in man 2 man coverage. The kind where the reciever turned around before the cornerback, jumped and caught the ball. Balls were constantly overthrown, underthrown, overthrown, underthrown. He couldn't read the defense at all.. The coaching staff isn't that good either, but that is another story. sigh* ... I see some guys with sigs of this guy,,, I just wonder if you folks are actually watching the games or are you just looking at the stats. Im tellin ya he played like a bum. Long term who knows, but i was pumped about watching this game and i was very, very disappointed.
 
I dunno man, I personally like Charlie Whitehurst from Clemson. Not only is he a good QB, but he plays with a lot of emotion.

Whitehurst is like a sixth year senior and Jacobs is a junior, and whitehurst isn't that good.
 
Theres people on this board that think Jacobs will be better than Leinart if you can believe that. Leinart is head and shoulders above the other Qbs, hes a nobrainer at the #1 overall.

Look at the numbers and look at the talent around Jacobs and look at the talent around leinart
 
Leinart is the best player in college football with Reggie Bush being #2. Look at what they have done so far this year and in their careers. I like Omar Jacobs and we have a way better shot at getting him than Leinart. The thing with MAC qbs is you really dont know what you're getting. They've put out Big Ben, Culepepper, Losman, Pennington, and Leftwich. I haven't seen too much of Jacobs but from what i've seen he looks good to me.
 
both of the top quarterbacks are way to risky. I would rather use our first pick on an offensive linemen. Then get a quarterback in the 2nd round. That would also be a much cheaper solution! Since quarterbacks want so much money now.

3.Drew Stanton
4.Jay Cutler
5.Omar
6.Chris Leak
7.Kellen Clemens
8.Charlie Whitherst

i agree. to be fair, im not the type who likes to evaluate players. im not a college football fan, so its hard to do. the only thing i can do figure out is if the QB has an NFL arm. thats about it

look at the offense leinart plays in and look at jacobs
