Jags didn't convert a thid down til 5 min left in third quarter!

Three obsevations

1) We can move the chains, the long drives will keeep our D fresh.
2) Our D (without JT) dominated the Jags starters
3) We can't kick from the infield

We punted twice (i think)& missed two FGs, The starting defense shut the Jags #1's down they didn't convert a third down til late in the third quarter. We are going to be in good shape. Bennie Anderson, Jeno and Rex Hadnot can run block very well. I think we ran well on thier big tackles Stroud and Henderson. This team is going to win a lot of regular season games. Finally Dom's defense seems to always have someone free to get to the QB.
 
hahahha we are doomed good joke! are D rocked them it was the first PRE-season game lets wait a bit to see whats to come for us i think we will be nasty but lets wait till the 3 game.

lotta new faces in the secondary tryin to adapt to Saban complicated defense.

1ST Team totally shut down the Jags

Leftwich was 3 for 8 for 32 yds, 1 INT, 1 Sack and a QBR of 10%, while our starting unit played...

In the first qt.our secondary was fine.Will Allen made a couple of good play's I believe he was the one that tipped the ball for the int. we got in the 1st.Our pass rush was confusing the jax q.b. and he was making bad decision's.As soon as our pass rush went away in the 2nd. q.t. our secondary seemed to be in trouble.Several was caught out of position or just plain blew coverage's.
 
its all about our secondary sencondary and third stringers learning the system and playing well in it
 
Despite the final score, I was really impressed by how our starters played. Our defense was wrecking havoc on the Jags' offense, making Leftwich's life miserable, and our offense was running the ball effectively (despite Jacksonville's stout run D) and even Harrington looked fairly sharp throwing the ball....though he did hang onto it a little longer than he should have on some plays. Overall, good opening game for our first-stringers.

Capers Defense has always overloaded one side and left a man with a free path to the QB and last night there were several cases where we had a guy free they just didn't make the play.
