Jaguars claim Dolphins will take Tannehill

But I thought Tannehill WASN'T a first rounder and any team taking him there would be REACHING.

So now all the teams that Jacksonville are enticing to trade up to get Tannehill are dumbasses? Is that really more likely than the notion that Tannehill is solidly considered a first rounder by multiple teams?

Anyone that takes him at top 10 is and who the hell is trading up for him? He is late 1st at best. The bills don't need to trade up for him even though they sign Fitz to a huge contract and seattle has flynn and there at 12

You're obviously missing the point of this story, which is that the Jaguars would only say that we're taking Tannehill if other teams in the first want him and are scared he might be gone.

There's an implication of value in Tannehill as a prospect here that runs contrary to what some on this board claim it to be, which is that he's a 2nd or 3rd rounder (not that those terms have an absolute meaning, anyway. Every draft is different enough that static grading devices like "2nd rounder" and especially further delineations like "late first" are utterly valueless).
 
The Jags should just move to LA. If we get Tannehill fine, if we don't, then we take the BPA or trade down. Let the Jags play all the games they want to....F-them.

If the fins want Tannehill watch for a trade with Minnesota, remember rick spielman? he is a 1st rounder just because other teams value him as such and that makes the price more for any team to move up, if everyone on here thinks that the fins are going to stink it up and their aren't any franchise QBs besides Luck and RGIII then wait until next year to get Barkley, Jones or Wilson.
 
Did the Jags snag Ireland from us and nobody tell us? This sounds like one of his silly a** 3rd grade GM moves.
 
The thing I hate about this is even if the Dolphins don't want Tannehill you know what we are going to hear if somebody trades up to 7 and takes him right?

The Dolphins missed on another QB target, they failed on more mediocre talent just like Flynn, Smith, Fisher. Manning they had no realistic shot at to begin with but what the hell we'll rip them for that too. What is wrong with the Dolphins, what has happened to that once proud organization, nobody wants to play there. We know what a mess it's become but I hate when these idiots in the media start ripping them over stupid crap. Go bother Jacksonville or Cleveland!
 
If the Jags were real men they would say "**** you Miami" and just draft Tannehill so we couldn't if they are so worried about our pick.
