Jaguars release WR Jones

how long before someone puts a thread in the Miami Dolphin section on how we should pick him up...

I can't believe it hasn't happened yet. It's only a matter of time though.

I'll go on the record and say nobody will pick him up. Jones has been a bust.

He had an ok season last year despite missing 4 games. Not too bad for someone who wasn't even a WR in college.... I'm sure people will want the Fins to pick him up for the wildcat.... I think I'd rather have him than Wilford...

He was the best WR on the Jags last year. If he hustled and tried hard he would be a beast. Too bad he's never going to do either from the looks of it.

Yeah, but being the best WR on the Jags the last few seasons is like saying you're the smartest kid on the short bus... not much to brag about.

Someone will give him a chance due to his size and potential. I just think his potential has been snorted away. Also, I'm sure the NFL will be taking action on him too.

Isn't it great how we're able to look down on the receivers in Jacksonville and feel smug. Even though Miami's receivers might not 'set the league on fire', we can be confident they're WAY better than the Jags'.

Our WRs are not very good, but we don't really have a lot invested in them. Ginn was the 9th pick in 2007, but after that we have two UDFAs. Even Wilford is not paid a large amount in the grand scheme of things. Its just that he has not earned a single dime of it...

On the other hand, the Jags have invested heavy on WRs and have zilch to show. Matt Jones and Reggie Williams were 1st round picks and they gave a big contract to Jerry Porter.

Its OK not to have a terrific return when you are not investing much. But if you are the Jags you have to wonder what happened. So much money and such high picks for so little production.

Our WRs aren't in the news like this making our organization look bad though.

I wasn't joking. I do think it's great to be able to look at the receivers on another team and think 'At least we know Miami's receivers are better than that'. It may be petty but it makes me feel good.
