If we want the Dolphins to be any good in the near future they will need to have atleast a decent o line and they dont have that. Thier main concern should be getting o line who can protect who ever the future quaterback is john beck or matt ryan. the best person to protect thier blindside would be Jake Long at the first pick

i like it, but to protect who? we don't have a QB. So i say we must go with Matt Ryan and hope we find a good RT at #32 and keep Carey at LT.

Matt Ryann has too much 'wrong' to like..... way too many interceptions, his decision making is shaky, he is not the most accurate... I think of him as this year's Brady Quinn...

Iv'e heard some analysts say Jake Long will end up at right tackle as a pro Anyways, given the fact that we didnt land a tackle in free agency, i see the fins getting one at #32. The Tuna starts his rebuilding magic with defense. He's done that everywhere. At # 1 you'll hear Chris Long, Vernon Gholston or some other defensive beast they like. I agree we need a decent line. Rest assured we will have a physical o-line under this regime.

We need an O-line to RUN the ball...we are in Bill Parcells school of football...with the signing of Starx and possibly William Joseph on the D-line..its less likely it`ll be Chris Long.

They only say that because his run blocking skills are AMAZING, and he isn't "Orlando Pace" like in pass protection . . . but 2 sacks in 4 years . . . in a conference like the Big 10 . . .seems pretty DAMN good to me. He has only "barely" struggled against the elite pass rushers, and it may even be coachable to help him against those speed end rushers. People keep focusing on pass pro, but look at what Jake Long on the left side does for our running game as well . . .he will be IMO above average (not premier) in pass pro . . . but AMAZING in the running game . . . and to have that kind of stud on at LT will be fun to watch for many years. IMO, Jake will be better than Carey at LT in pass pro . . . and Carey wasn't bad last year . . . I guess it depends on if we can trade down . . . . at #1, I like Jake Long and Chris Long . . . at #3 . . . I like Gholston or Chris Long . . . so it all depends . . . . on what Parcells is able to do.

Why do you think of him as this years Quinn since Quinn only threw 7 interecptions and had a better ratio than Beck. His decision making was never questioned and was still a pretty accurate Qb. You cant have it both ways and lump them both together. Also Ryan is not innacurate, the only knock anyone can come up with him is the 19 interceptions, but once again college stats dont translate to the pros. Im sure Beck had better college stats that were not the same as his pro stats.

Parcells is not going to draft Ryan!! He will get a linemen, either jake or chris long or maybe gholston. He will play it safe, lets just hope Atlanta really wants Ryan and offers us a decent package, I would take this years first and next years first. Then we take whi chever long gets pat st louis

how can you not want jake long, he is a LT, he i left handed and LT is perfect.
he will make the whole team better
ronnie, ricky and booker will have a wonderful season with this guy opening up holes
beck will have time to set his feet and make strong accurate throws to recievers that have time to get open
i have been watching a lot of game footage from beck, in college he would throw high acurate long flip, sort of passes (hey watever works for him), in the few starts last season he was forced to throw to the RB crossing right in front of him, somehting against his normal style, give him the time and he will be the same byu qb that had almost a gross 70 percentage compleation percentage

the interceptions aren't the only knock anyone can come up with, there are questions about Matt Ryan's arm strength, decision-making and athleticism. plus, a 3-2 TD/INT ratio is terrible in college. Ryan may be the best QB in this class, but it doesn't sound like he's an automatic franchise guy. here's a few scouting reports that I googled:
