Jake Long c'mon down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that Dallas re-signed their Pro Bowl LT,Adams,it looks like there isn't much of an answer at LT for Miami in FA.This only pushed the lever towards drafting Long(Jake).Guys,Im not a guy who bought into us drafting Jake after the combine...oh no....I was bought when he was evaluated as a top 5 pick....preferbly when the offseason started.Long put up 37 reps at 225 pounds at the combine.He showed he can mover,clockin' in a 5.17 official 40 time(one of the best among Linemen).Long,in his career,only let two players penetrate on him,seperate occasions of course.Only letting 2 players by you in 4 years speaks too me...no...scratch that...it screams to me....and the thing about it is that he played right tackle the first two years at Michigan,and spent the last two at LT.Of course,he let on player by on each side.All in all,if Adam(Flozell) had never signed back with the 'boys,and had he come here,I'd call you an idiot for think MIA will draft Jake Long.But thats the the case.Now that Adams will be spending he rest of his career in DAL,MIA has to take will the the getting is good.I think Jake is the next Orlando Pace,and sure,he can be the next Robert Gallery too.However,Matt Ryan can be the next David Carr,Chris Long can be the next Brandon Roye,Glenn Dorsey can be the next....well...can't think of anybody right now,but if anyone ends up like any of the players mentioned,I'd take a Gallery out of all of them.Still,I think Long will have an extroadinary career,he has the drive,passsion,and the strength for a LT.He is 6'7",315 and can block to save his life:winkwink:.....

I haven't heard the fat lady sing yet...don't forget that Jerry was going to let him walk...now all of a sudden he signs him to a LONG term contract...just what I would do if I had a deal sending him to the Dolphins. He could be that player that Jerry wants to send...for the trade.

One has to wonder how Jerry is coming up with all this cap money...when he only has appx 6.8 mil to start with.

I'd be MUCH happier taking Jake Long at #1 than taking a 32 year old player in exchange for the most valued thing in the NFL Draft: your choice of whatever player you want.

Nah, I don't want Flozell Adams. I want Jake Long. It's looking more and more likely.

The only other players I'd be happy with at this spot are Matt Ryan or Darren McFadden, but after seeing what Joe Thomas did last year, I say Jake Long.
 
i know jake long is a good player but it seems like we never take the big name like McFadden and i know we dont need him this year but thats just how it seems to me. we passed on quinn last year.

I agree and you're right; we never do seem to draft the big name players. I remember passing on Randy Moss, Drew Brees etc. Last year we passed on Brady Quinn and Patrick Willis and drafted a punt returner/WR named Ted Ginn.

This year, I'll be happy if we draft one of the following:

1. Jake Long
2. Vernon Gholston
3. Chris Long

I sure hope so. Plus with it looking like we are going to get Pace, I makes Chris Long less likely.

This would play out exactly how I want it too. a LT that will be a fixture there for 10 years.
 
I think Jake is definitely going to be the pick. We draft him and Ronnie and anyone else in our backfield will run wild. Our right side is now solidified, now we draft Long for LT. What a monster OL we will have. I think Parcells knows he wont be able to trade out of #1, so we might as well draft a monster in Long.

read up on the salary cap a little bit. Dallas would take a big cap hit if they traded Adams now. had they slapped him with the franchise tag, then ok. maybe. but 100% not now.
 
If we sign Calvin Pace... Jake Long is a lock...
