It's 4:30PM and Jim just announced he'll be the interview guest probably within the next 5-10 minutes (ESPN TV)
I was just going to post that too.
I would love to have Jake Long on our team. He is the best OT in the draft, we need an OT very badly. Having a quality O-Line is the most important factor in winning any football games.
Did you hear when he said he likes to pile drive people and drive them into the ground after the whistle is blown. That was hilarious. I hope he is on our team.
I loved the interview. And I quote,"I play through the whistle and if someone is going down, I'll pile drive him into the ground."
That's the kind of guy I want on the team!
Quotes are nice, but they don't really tell us whether a player can walk the walk instead of just talking the talk.
This was made in another thread but what I don't understand is if he said I love everyone and would never hurt a fly, wouldn't this be one of the biggest complaints about him.
This guy (J.Long) will help the turn around faster than anyone else on the draft board. Our run game, which looked great at the beginning of the year will be even better which directly effects our pass game which directly effects our defense by keeping them off the field and also makes our new and improved Special Teams unit even more effective. I can't think of any other player on that draft board who could accomplish this.
I'd say M.Ryan if he was thought of the second coming of greatness but that's not even remotely close. C.Long who is one of my favourite players coming out aswell would really help us get better but not the way Jake will impact the whole team.
Groves won't be there at #32, especially in the wake of the Super Bowl where it was clear that if you have premium pass rushers, even Tom Brady to Randy Moss is ineffective.
