With the probable signing if Peppers to the Ratriots, how do all of you think Long would/will fair against arguably the best rusher in the league?

Truthfully, I wish I could get a handle on it, one half of me says Peppers would beat Long, the other half says Long can handle peppers, so unfortunately I simply dont know...

Hence the thread

Long Does excellent against power rusher, but he does not do as good with speed rushers. I don't consider peppers a fast rusher but one that relies on technique and power. With that being said, I think Long would do well against Peppers if you ask me.

hope ur right, its almost a certainty Peppers will be a Rat and we'll see him 2ce a year

Peppers only shows up half the time it seems, He has hall of fame talent, and mediocre work ethic.

Peppers will beat him if he does it the " Patriot way" and finds out the oline formations and play signals....

I knowit's not a good measuring stick, but I believe it was Peppers that Jake was driving down the line and off the ball time and time again during the Pro-bowl from the RT position.

Ive heard that before...Moss ring a bell? oh wait...23 Tds or something his first year?

put a loser on any good team ran with a good strict FO as Green said about miami and they will bring out hte best of you. peppers i think will dominate. with thomas, mayo, peppers, cmon man thats one hell of a LB core and one FAST and SMART core.

compared to Crowder? Porter? Roth (lmao) and akin? plus dont coutn wake b/c hes unproven in the NFL so far.

Long will dominate Peppers, what I'm really worried about is how well Carey will fare against him. Do you think they'll immediately move A. Thomas to the other side and let Peppers come in on Penny's blindside? There's a good chance he'll be rushing on Carey's side which is much more of a mismatch.

peppers is a monster.. how many julius wants to be in miami threads where there before? now.. ohh hes not that good?.. hes good, hes going to have a JT mvp year with the pats..

they are both 6'7 and jakes probably got 40-50 lbs on him...
We shall see, I'm thinking Peppers wont be as effective as a 3-4 DE.
If he's a 3-4 OLB, i'm hoping Pennington throws it to whoever he's covering.. no way he's good in coverage as a OLB..

I'm honestly not that worried if Peppers comes into the division.. and if he does, i hope he falls right on his face and Jake Long makes him wish he was a 4'3 DE again

call me a homer but I think Jake can handle just about any DE OLB in the League.

that's a tough one. peppers is an absolute freak and i would hate if we had to play against him twice a year. long would definitely have his hands full blocking an athlete like that.

how would he fair? i think very well. it appears he was well worth the #1 overall pick and will only continue to improve. in the near future that question will become 'how will peppers fair against long?'
