Well it looks like the pick will be J. Long...unless something serious changes over the next 4-5 days.

Wow....Looks like the Jumbo Elliot clone won out, I guess, Fishypete...
Im a little disappointed the Glenn Dorsey wont be a Dolphin, especially with word coming out that he's not injured as bad as people think...or is that just a smokescreen???
Anything can still happen...but I doubt that Dorsey was ever a serious contender for the Dolphins.
Im not sure why, is it because he plays out of position for the dolphins defense??? is it because the injuries in relation to the monetary compensation hed get at number 1 makes him too risky??? or is jake long just that much better than the other linemen in this draft???
Only one other thing could happen. We secure him and trade him to KC or someone else. It could happen, via Eli Manning/Phillip Rivers.
Because Dorsey isn't a 3-4 NT...and he may not have the size to play as a 3-4 DE. Thats the problem...when you pick with the first pick in the draft....you have to be sure that the player fits...otherwise you are leaving yourself open to a serious mistake that can hurt your team for years.

Could that happen...yes...but I doubt it. The Dolphins would have to get a Ricky Williams type of offer to let that happen.
Na. I doubt that would be the reason. The reason more likely will be the contract itself. It would have to be acceptable to KC...and the other thing. The "Ricky Williams" type offer is not what BP/JI were looking for. They simply wanted to trade down and out of that high priced pick for something less than an absolute top notch player. And to get another pick or two out of it. That would be the problem. They simply were not looking for an outrageous offer based on this talent pool.
