Jalen Hurts

Keep hearing about Tua, but what about his predecessor at Alabama, Jalen Hurts? He is having a terrific year at Oklahoma and fits the mold of today's quarterback. It is great to see a guy come back after being ousted at Alabama. This is just a question to see what you guys think about him and is worth drafting. He isn't talked about as much, but from what I have seen from him this year, I have come away impressed.

He would be a good consolation prize if we cant get Tua. Otherwise, picking him first would not be ideal.

Remember that he did lose his starting job to Tua at Alabama. The guy is not bad, but I think Tua has the edge. Tua has been more productive for a longer amount of time which to me makes him the safer bet.

Plus the what ifs, he will always measured up against how successful Tua is. In college and the pros. Tua and Hurts will be the new Peyton Manning/Ryan Leaf in my opinion and we will need to make sure we pick the right one.

Honestly, it has been 3 different qbs in 3 different years and all have been insanely good. I give more credit to the system in place as opposed to the qbs.

Hurts has done nothing that resembles NFL qualities. He's a product of the genius of Lincoln Riley and playing low 100s defensive ranked teams.

Hurts is well worth a 3rd round pick for development reasons, but absolutely not as a potential star qb. Stick with the kid that's been a star passer at every level. You'll eventually hit.

If Josh Rosen is the starter moving forward, Hurts would be an adequate project/backup QB. I don't know that i'd spend a top 100 selection on him though.

We will definitely draft a QB at some point given that Fitzpatrick has no purpose moving forward.

I know I'm ready for anything but anticipate us making all the obviously correct moves once the choice is ours to make.

I think Hurts will move up draft boards after a big year. Yes, he may be somewhat of a product of the system but I think he’ll end up going in the 1st round.
