JaMarcus Russell remains Oakland's starting quarterback, despite getting the hook in Sunday's 38-0 loss to the Jets. After the game, various players took responsibility for their roles in the worst loss in Raiders history. Except Russell.

"I don't think it's me personally, I really don't," Russell said after the game. "It's a bad combination of one guy doesn't do something right one time. Personally, I don't think so . . . Do you?"

at least we dont have a player like this as our qb

He's abysmal. Their whole team is bad, but he's miserable.

They don't have anyone worth a squirt of piss behind him though, so they're kind of stuck with him for at least this season.

Worst shutout home loss I think it was.

Maybe sitting could do him some good....seems to have worked for Alex Smith.

Russell may be the worst first overall pick in recent memory. I can understand why people would be enamored with his talent, but he never seemed to me to be the type of guy who could ever have the intellect for the NFL game. He was worth a lower pick as a project QB, but having a guy like him be a first overall pick is just laughable.

If your a QB on a team that cant score any points in a home game, then you have to take responsibility. This doesn't surprise me though, from whats coming out in the media, his attitude stinks and this further proves that.

hands down the worst starter in the league. i never thought i'd say i feel bad for the raiders. i was wrong. i wonder how long they'll wait for him to grow a brain.

Pretty sad how this guy can be so terrible at what he does yet still be one of the highest paid players in the league. This guy should be delivering pizza or something, he has no business in this league. I was thinking, well maybe he can become another Culpepper (during Culpepper's healthy days), which still wouldn't be worth drafting at number 1, and it isn't really saying much since Culpepper won't win you championships, but can still put up stats in his prime. JaMarcus can't even do that. The NFL really needs to do something about rookie contracts, but it will only get worse with the uncapped year coming up. More money to undeserving/unproven players.

I've never seen so many bad throws by a QB in my life. He and John Beck ought to have a competition to see who the most overmatched Qb in the league is.
