Why draft Nicks when a bigger, stronger, much smarter guy is available perhaps in the 6th.

Simmons ran a 4.5 at his pro day and is climbing draft boards.

It's obvious he can run after the catch, he is a former RB, but can he get open consistently??

Nearly 1300 yards and 7 TD's. He had to get open quite often seeing his APC was only 12.

This guy appears to me to have huge upside, and he doesn't drop balls like Jaison Williams.

Maybe they should draft this kid and forget about trading away 1st rounders for Boldin.

However, I've never seen him play.

Anybody know anything about this guy.

Honestly haven't heard of this guy. He appears to be too slow for a WR in the NFL, but might make a good ST player or even a 3rd down wingback or something.

I disagree, not with his size.

Jamarko Simmons WR(Western Michigan) 6'2" 241lbs.
Big, physical WR that likes contact. Taylor-made to play the slot. He finished his college career ranking 1st all-time in receptions and 3rd all-time in recieving yards. He broke the single season record with 104 receptions for 1276 yards and 7 TDs. He was named honorable mention All-American by Sports Illustrated.

The more I read about this guy the more I like him. He was a captain, a real leader type, high character.

Not only that, he was actually known for his ability to get separation. That would have been the big concern for a guy his size but they say he was great at accomplishing separation.

Do they have a yards after the catch stat in college football??????

Previously, I didn't even care if we drafted a WR or not because Brandon London and Davonne Bess impressed me about as much as anyone in the draft, but this guy just looks like a perfect fit for the Dolphins, and he seems like the kind who could contribute right away.

It now looks like he may go as high as the third round. yikes! that is one heck of a jump. NFLdraftscout.com has him 7th/FA but I don't think that is considering his pro day.

It appears that most scouts just assumed he was going to be too slow because of his size, but a 4.5 flat at 235 is plenty of straight line speed especially for a guy with natural RB talents.

I hope this kid grabs Parcell's attention.

Simmons is definitely very athletic for someone as thick as he is - Boldin is a good compare for body type. Unfortunately, his hands can be spotty. Not as bad as Jaison Williams, but still very inconsistent. He'll probably play closer to 230 than 240.
