Has anybody seen this beast play (He's 6'9, 350!!!)? I've read that he has declared for the draft... hasnt allowed a sack in the 2 years he has started for Maryland..Where will he land in the draft? Any info on this guy...

Yeah I heard that he declared, very surprising. I think he could land anywhere from 15-40, he's very raw.

if he is there in the second, grab him.

Tackles in the ACC have a good rep because a lot of good pass rushers come out of that conference, (see, Gaines Adams, Broderick Bunkley, Mario Williams, Darryl Tapp etc...), so if he hasnt allowed a sack against that type of competition, then he's worth a flier in my opinion.

I think I was the first to mention Jared on the forums.
My post was on the draft forums on 10/27/06...He also has a 36 inch vertical jump.

He is a freak of nature but the games I saw him play were not so dominating for someone that size.As previously mentioned Jared would be a project.

The games I watched him in he seemed a bit lost out there and he was stood up and pushed back many times...I guess it's a case of who gets the leverage and he seemed to play upright but he did not allow a sack.

My own opinion after seeing him play is that he would get manhandled in the NFL right now and elite pass rushers would have no problem getting past him
(right now)In 2 -3 years with added strength and good coaching he could be
incredible....I dont think we can take that chance in the first and I'm not even sure we can do it for a second since this draft is so deep and our second round pick should be starting day1.

It's a tough choice to draft for 2-3 years down the road when we need help right now with that said watch whoever picks him and he turns into a perenial pro bowl LT.

Now THERE'S another Tackle that might be worth thinking about. Hopefully he does awesome at the Combine and gets a top ten pick kind of status.

I just wanna say, Debrickshaw ferguson iis getting owned by elite pass rushers and he was #3 guy last year in the draft. Joe Thomas will get beat by elite guys as well. But in 3-4 years, these guys will be the new 'john ogden' and 'Willie Roaf'

what it sounds like here is that he gets by on athleticism alone, if you add arguably the best line coach in the league in Houck, we might have a stud on our hands.

I'd take him over Levi Brown 10 times out of 10.

The whole deal with Levi Brown is whether he will project to a Right or Left Tackle, but I'll leave that judgement to Houck if he's still here and I truly hope he is...

Brown would play right tackle. He's a phenominal run blocker. not to great of a pass blocker. Which equals to a solid right tackle.

Levi played and started 4 years at LT for Penn State. What makes you think he'll project to being a RT in the NFL?
