Jared Odrick, Charles Clay, Jimmy Wilson to get pay raises

Who doesn't like a raise when your measurables prove you are owed more than a pat on the back

Wilson should not get a pay raise. I don't know what his "measurables" are, maybe he had a low bar to cross.

Good for them. THey earned it. Odrick is on the cusp of becoming a pro bowler. With that said.. He was a first round pick, why is he getting a raise?

all drafted by Jeff ireland. One a 7th rounder and one a 6th rounder.

I saw on another site his increase was based on his number of snaps played, that was built into his contract.

Jimmy Wilson doesn't deserve any of that raise.. We need to move on from that project and draft a guy that actually has a chance to take a starting spot in the future.

This is the time of year when final season statistics are officially finalized by the NFL and players earn raises that are included in their contract. These raises are referred to as escalators and , if earned, increase the value of a players’ contract. One set of escalators is for veteran players while another set is known as the “Proven Performance Escalator”. The PPE is available to all offensive and defensive players selected between round 3 and 7 of the draft during the 4th year of their contract. If earned this raises the salary of the player to that of the lowest Restricted Free Agent Tender. To earn that escalator a player must play in at least 35% of the snaps in two of his first three seasons or 35% of the total snaps over the three year period. The PPE is never guaranteed and most escalators are not guaranteed.

Has nothing to do with how well Wilson or Clay played, its strictly based on how many number of snaps they played. Not sure how it works with 1st rounders like Odrick.

Wilson was quite the versatile player this year, did a lot of different things well this year, glad to see him doing well.

Any guy who is on the field for his team as much as Wilson will get a pay raise. If he wasn't deserving, that's the Dolphins fault.

That's fair. Wilson was versatile and filled in for injuries, for which he was the best suited of the guys Miami had available. I can't fault him for going out and playing. I didn't like his effort, tenacity, or physicality. If you get a chance to tackle a WR you better do it, don't just wave at him as he runs on by for 6.

well deserved on all 3 fronts...although teams go after wilson or think they can at least
