Joe reported that sources close to him tell him that Jarvis wants in the ballpark of $14 mill a season and he and his agent are working off the Antonio Brown contract. Essentially Landry wants to get paid a bit more than TY Hilton got paid a while back back where TY averages around $13 mill a season.

Seriously doubt Miami will have that kind of dough left.

No wonder theyre taking a good look at Ryan Switzer, WR NC.

Love the player, but his position just isn't worth that - or put another way, he's not worth that if you want to actually accumulate the talent necessary to win a title. If you just want to root for a team with Jarvis on it, then great, let's keep him at all costs.

Just the way it goes when players price themselves out of their original team. Happened with OV, and will happen with Jarvis if his demands don't change. Need to keep the influx of cheap talent coming in. Can't get too attached to any one player except your QB, or some star players when they show a little loyalty themselves (e.g. when players restructure to help the team's cap). Tom Brady, though I despise him, is an example of both - he's a star QB, and he's happy playing for less than he's worth to keep the team's finances in reasonable shape.

I love the player, but those numbers just aren't good for the team.

I'd pay him more than TY. That would be worth it. He is a crucial part of the team.

On another note T-Baum better not **** around and play that "oh let's wait and see". We will see I how he likes games if I go down. there and pay him a visit hahaha

Landry does not deserve that amount of money.

10 seems about fine I guess, which still feels steep to me considering his lack of touchdowns, BUT, he makes plays to get us down the field at least. A fan favorite.. I would hate to lose him due to a couple million here or there like what happened with Lamar Miller but I could see us standing pat on an offer

I remember the article asking for the "face" of the franchise, my answer was emphatically Jarvis Landry. The question now is can we afford him?

Too much for a slot receiver that isn't a TD maker. I love his tenacity but there are limits to what to pay.

I'm sorry, but Landry is not Antonio Brown. I've got a bad feeling that Jarvis is going to price himself right out of Miami. Somebody's going to pay him what he wants.

What would his franchise tag cost for 2018 if we can't get a long term deal?

Good chance the FO tries to convince themselves that they made the ****ty Caroo trade with the intention of letting Landry walk instead of paying him.

Much like the ridiculous 1st rd tender placed on Alonso and overpaying Branch.

Man I just can't see the team paying that much for a slot receiver whoever he is. He is a team favorite I get it, but we also have other needs on this team.

Hope we can settle for 12 per year. Especially if he gets a little extra in 2017 you gotta believe we can get it done.

If we can get him to keep this years deal in place with a signing bonus, it might be worth it. The front office will probably try to rationalize it so it's not actually paying him as much (he will get 14mil over the life of the contract but keep this years salary low so there is no need to make room to fit him)
