Jason Allen: A draft journal

"In terms of my game, I feel I am a physical football player and versatile. I can play any position in the secondary; from corner to safety to nickel or dime. Just put me on the field and I will perform. I don't think many guys have played safety and corner as much as I have. I can play both corner and safety and I've played them well. "

That is why I trust Saban's pick. Once he was released to run he posted a 4.45 after training he ran a 4.39 at the combine...He feels he is even faster...At his size this guy will destroy recievers. Yep Nick you the man!

Anyone notice it took Nick only 2 offseasons to COMPLETELY rebuild the secondary and inject it with young, physical, aggressive players?

I love it.

To play corner you have to be a little ****y/confident. Not too ****y, but at the same time you have to have confidence. You have to go out there with a short memory to play defensive back. So whether it be a good play, or you get beat on a play, you have to have a short-term memory. You have to go out there and tell the wide receiver, "I am going to beat you this play, I'm not going to let you get off the line of scrimmage and it is going to be a long day and a physical one." And I think the wide receiver and corner positions are positions where they will be a lot of trash talking so you have to set the tempo early. From the first play of the game, you let the receiver know it will be physical and it's going to be a long day for him.

:)

Just listening to him talk, you can tell he's got a good head on his shoulders and a belief in himself and confident swagger to him. I like it.
