Jason Allen at CB...Daniels the new R. Howard???

Why doesn't Saban insert Jason Allen at CB? I mean, if Saban likes the safety trio of Hill, Tillman, and Bell so much...why doesn't he insert the much faster Jason Allen at CB and put the seemingly new Reggie Howard - Travis Daniels at NB? I mean he always seems to be getting beat.

We don't have any playmakers in the secondary.

This way we can see if we find our star CB in Jason Allen and won't need to look for one in the offseason. We need to focus on offense this offseason. Plus safeties are much cheaper to find than CBs.

If Allen explodes...then we can keep Will Allen and Jason Allen as the starters with Travis Daniels at NB and Andre Goodman and Will Poole as the backups next year.

How can people put ANY blame on the defense

Guess what

They gave up 14 points vs Pitt (the offense caused the other 14)

13 or 9 vs Buffalo (blocked punt, I cant remember if it resulted in a FG or TD)

10 vs Tennessee

17 vs the Texans (who have a pretty good offense)

and

3 Today (the rest were caused by turnovers putting NE in great field position)

travis daniels is one of our premier players on this defense other than thomas and taylor if you think about it

I don't want Will Allen here anymore, he causes big penalties at the worst times. In the Buffalo game he dry humped Lee Evans down the field for a 50 yard pass interferance call, and today he did the same thing for a 30 yard penalty. Get rid of him.:fire:

Well even Zach Thomas said he had a lot of trouble understanding and adjusting to this defense. Allen is only a rookie, and playing safety (which is the most complicated position in our scheme apparently) So Im not going to jump all over him for not playing yet. If he isnt seeing time by week 9 I will worry, and if not by week 13 question where his head is

that call in the endzone was not a good call.i didnt see contact but anytime a ref see's an upclose battle between a wide reciever and a cornerback and the cornerback doesnt look back then that will result in a flag

They had really bad angles so we couldnt really see all what happened.

But what I did see was Gabrial (I think that was the WR I couldnt really tell) had his arms wrapped around Allen as he tried to turn and get back to the ball

I agree with you wholeheartadly. The defense hasn't been perfect but until we lose a game like 35-31, lay off them. The offense is holding this team back light years more than the D is. They held the Pats, who lead the NFL in offense, to 213 yards of total offense in Foxboro today. Yeah the Pats made some plays but guess what they always do. The defense gave the offense ample oppurtunity to win this game, the whole 3rd quarter comes to mind when all the D did was make stop after stop after stop. All anyone wants to remember is the end of the game, where our piss poor offense had already gave it away. Seriously we sholdn't even be talking about the defense in a negative way until after we can at least muster 24 points in a game. Sorry we are not winning 10-9 every week.

I didn't put any blame on the defense. All the blame is DEFINITELY on the OFFENSE.

But what I'm aware of is that although our defense is good, it isn't great because of the stat that the commentators put on during the game about when the PATS had more than 20 INTS during the season they went to the Super Bowl...and since they've gone down...they haven't.

Our secondary doesn't create any INTS. Then Daniels is our weak link...that's all. Also, I'm looking for the long haul...towards next year...so that we don't start off like this year.
