"He was a JUCO transfer," Allen said. "So my freshman year was his junior year, and we came in together. We trained together at Tennessee, we pushed each other, competed with each other. He's a heck of a football player."

Allen said he was looking forward to competing at cornerback, and thanked the coaches for the opportunity. Different staffs have shuffled him back and forth since his arrival.

"Last year, I kind of trained in the offseason to be a safety," Allen said. "You different as a safety (than as a) corner. I'm definitely working on my techniques at the corner position, and not worry as much about switching to safety."

It's great to hear that he is working on his technique. Hopefully he will get better and pan out. I want it so bad.

the only corner Miami sports with shut-down potential has shut himself down for two years now
maybe he finally figured it out, it's time to play football.
no more excuses ...

He's athletic, but way too dumb, so CB is the right spot for him. I hope it works out.

When we drafted him, I thought our need was greater at CB, which is where I was hoping he was going to stick. But after reading multiple scouting reports on the guy, he just didn't seem fluid enough to stay with the best WRs, even if he was as fast or faster than some of them. Then he couldn't hack it at safety and has bounced back & forth between positions ever since. Noted that he didn't have any control over a lot of this. Your boss is your boss.

I really hope he makes it, on a personal level and as a fan of the Fins... he just seems more like a safety to me.

We need to leave him at corner and let him sink or swim there. We pulled the same nonsense with Carey for years and he is just starting to show his skill.

We could both be right, and the FO could be just laying out today's blah-blah-blah--which is all anybody really needs to know at this point.

If we take a corner early, I think it's probably safe to say the FO would hope the new guy would send JA to the bench as soon as possible.

I'm just glad he'll finally be at the same position for more than one season for once

I think FriendMylefynch has a pretty good grasp on it: "the FO could be just laying out today's blah-blah-blah--which is all anybody really needs to know at this point"
just got to let it play out & see

God i hope there are a few typos in this quote, otherwise he really is dumb.
