Everyone has talked about last year's draft picks impact on last year's play..but what do0o you guys think about this year's pick..i personally love how Jason Allen plays and i want to see em start. I dont really know about Derek Hagan..and i know lots of Aromoshadou because he played for my high school and was a stud...so0o give me some feedbacks on how you think they are going to do0o in their rookie and future seasons with the dolphins
The reason everyone is so anxious about this year's crop is because of how successful last year's crop was. If Saban duplicates last years success, he'll be declared "King of the Drafters" or something like that....
That said, I too am somewhat enamored with Aromashodu. He has unique combination of physical skills and size. If he can stick as a returner for a year or two and develop into a better WR, he can be one of the better guys in the league. I'd love to see WW's return duties be replaced by Aromo and Campbell, not because I dislike WW, but he potential is reached...he's more of a role player...I'd rather see a younger guy being given time to develop than to keep someone who's reached his physical limits...
Allen NEEDS to be this year's Daniels for us. He needs to be put in the lineup and he needs to produce. Our secondary was as bad as our DL was good last year. Saban has completely revamped the secondary to the point that Daniels may not be our best option at LCB, but that remains to be seen. I still think Poole will develop into a solid starter. For that reason, and for Daniels knowledge of Saban's secondary philosophy, I see him, ideally, as the swing guy in the secondary....JMHO, but Poole has that much ability. Allen and Hill look to be the safties with Bell and Cooper pushing hard for PT. Athletically, the 5 front running DBs (Allen, Daniels, Poole, Allen and Hill) are much better than last years group and Cooper, Bell, and Tillman make the depth as good or better than last year. I will say that Bell and Tillman played well after injuries threw them into the lineups and as we know, that was during the 6 game streak that the secondary came together finally. I'm pretty excited to see the camp battles begin there.
I believe that Hagan and Campbell will be co-#3 WRs. I'm not too sure where or if Vick fits in, but that could be quite a find if he develops. If Vick impresses with Mitchell, Aromo and Campbell fighting out the return duties, it could be difficult for fan-favorite Welker to make the team. While I love what he's done and meant (since in 2004, he was about the only good thing to look at on the offensive side of the ball) it would be sad to see him move on, but he'll hook up somewhere else. If Vick doesn't progress enough, he may be hard to keep on the practice squad, but either way, the team will be much better in the WR department and as good or better in the return department....
The other picks (and UDFAs) Toledo, Fafita, Evans, Ishola along with returning guys like Manny Wright, Vickerson, Roth all look to be better and should fill in roles on the team.... That's what you want from your later round drafted guys.
