If anyone watch the game yesterday,Did you notice Allen on the kick return take on the wedge! If he is willing to take on 4-5 guys bigger than he then he deservers a chance to lay a WR or RB out on D!

Just alittle something other than the bash Saban and Pep threads.

Yeah I saw that he took out the whole wedge and I think he should start at safety.

Well what would it hurt to put him in? He's our 1st round draft choice and he should have been playing a long time ago. Is our secondary going to get any worse if he's in there? probably not..

I don't see much of a downside to starting him. We are already blowing coverages and missing assignments. Why not let the rookie learn on the fly?

Allen needs to replace tillman. I like Tillman as a backup/special teamer but not a starter. That one play where Johnson (I think) went up and caught it between the safety and corner, without at least a deflection being made, sickened me. Allen wouldve gone coast to coast with an Int if you ask me. At least he wasnt afraid to make a play on the ball in college.

That play is only one example, Tillman has been utter garbage all year and is consistently late on every cover 2 or pass off into his deep zone.

Renaldo Hill has been a ghost out there. Can't say specifically anything he has done wrong, but he simply does nothing, period, it seems.

Jason Allen deserves the opportunity by default of Travares Tillman playing like one of the worse safeties in team, perhaps league history. Matter of fact, I wouldn't mind seeing Allen/Bell back there to completely replace Tillman/Hill.

This is the perfect game to throw him into the mix. NE's starting WR's are Doug Gabriel & Reche Caldwell........ come on!

Jason Allen has not proven squat at the NFL level and i'm sure if he was all that he would be starting already. Derrick Pope deserves to start much more than him.

And where did he get an opportunity to do so, preseason?

Please.....some players are just gamers, period. Until he gets a shot in the regular season, with room for error because he's a rookie, that statement is irrelevant.

Jason Allen needs to start, him or Yeremiah Bell. Tillman is terrible and is only a backup. Hell even Deke Cooper was better then Tillman. Allen is our 1st round pick, let him play and prove himself, he can't make plays on the bench!!!!!!!

I'll agree, Pope can't do any worse than Spragan. Not that Spragan has been bad, but I think his fumble force verse Carr on Sunday was the first play he has made in 2 years here.
